Absolutely awsome.

Yes, it was one of those incredible simming moments, a true classic. A dogfight between four of us in Camels and four of them in DVIIs. I got two of them, smashed my wheels onto the top wing of a third and crash-landed at the nearest aerodrome.

My hands were dripping with sweat. That's what you get when you've got 10+ real-time hours invested in a campaign pilot plus a momentous dogfight with four vey good hun right down on the deck.

OFF, simply the best. :jump::ernae::applause::jump:

Along the same awesome line:

I had the flight density set to "high" just to see what would happen. Well, I got into a fight and noticed a lot of dots in the sky as I was flailing about and hit pause to check the TAC. There were 38 planes in my little neck of the woods. 38.

Two seaters, scouts, cover flights. There were two other flights (spads and pups) mixed up in my little furball.

Awesome.

SIGGI- :jump::ernae::applause::jump: Are you excited? ;>)

I was. :)

And the best thing...one can stand up from one's desk afterwards, make a cup of coffee, have a smoke, and tell the missus what an ace one is, all without having a single real bullet part one's hair. :icon_lol: It's very cathartic.

Missus? i remember i think i have one round here somewhere!!!

Come to think of it,its been very quiet lately...............oh dear!

My rig is in the end of the kitchen, so my wife gets to be highly entertained by my antics in the cockpit while she cooks and stuff.

Plus it helps immensely that's she's Japanese, they have a very atypical kind of attitude to 'boys and their toys'. :)

And I never complain when she disappears upstairs to practice her pole-dancing. I even support her in her hobby by watching and giving encouragement. Oh yeah. :icon_lol:

Siggi,
you must be one of the luckiest guys on earth - all sounds much like the perfect marriage! If I find a woman like this, I may give up my bachelor status and maybe even marry.
I mean - on top of it all, she can even cook all these wonderful Japanese meals! And maybe even make Sushi? Lucky boy!...

I had sushi-rolls for lunch today as it happens.

"Darling, what would you like for dinner tonight?"

"English fry-up."

"............?...?..."

"Well don't bloody well ask me then."

Had a superb experience flying today Myself.

Memorable, not because of any Dogfighting..in fact, I didn't encounter a single enemy aircraft...But it was an exhausting mission...escort duties...with that intense fear, that one is about to be jumped..... It was bad weather, dark ominous clouds covered the whole sky...wingmen and myself getting buffeted by enemy flak.....and I couldn't wait for the time to pass where I could head home!

Eventualy, my field came into view, and I began my approach (dont you just love bringing these aircraft down slowly, and listening to the RPM sounds change to that brrrrm..brmmm sound?)

I taxied over to my dispersal...and cut the engine....Looked around over my shoulder, to see an Ambulance doing the rounds...the sound of a distant dog barking, the growl of another aircraft starting up...then quiet.

All except for a bird singing!

Now THAT'S Immersion!!!!

And I have forgotten to eat - sheer immersion - and now, with a very hungry stomach, I must read this. My mouth is now watering like the Pavlov's dog's.
Hope I don't get a short-circuit in my keyboard (Lol!)

Widowmaker,
I know what you mean. This relief, when your escorted planes are back safe.
And when I just test-flew your new Camel (look at thread "The End of a Hunter"), I had 'created' my alter ego, David Oldham, and situated him on an airfield north of Amiens (stunning beautiful landscape there; gentle hills, brooks and woods - like the Hobbit's shire!).
And when he had landed (nice sound, that Camel!), he sat in his crate, looking at the huge slate grey clouds all around, while sitting in a sunnier bit, and the birds began to sing. He lightened himself a fag, chased off the mechanics, who came running with worried looks, and enjoyed the mild, rain washed evening air. Life is so beautiful!...

Yeah..Damn baby sitting 2 seaters!...Not the job for a fighter pilot!:ernae:
