For those who made the mistake of moving to Vista 64 bit machines. Mike Priester is asking for you to express interest at Absquad.net. Exciting for me!

I won't be visiting ABSuad anything until all of the stolen work is removed from the site, until full apologies have been made to the real authors of the work currently hosted there.

Obie, I noticed one or two familiar looking planes over there. I notice any and all his files have auto install integrated to them. He has some effects files that he credits to others, if there is a plane that is used without permission, has anyone spoken to him about it? I agree with you that it's only right to give credit where credit is due. CFS2 sites are few and far between, I hope everyone can resolve their differences that CFS2 be kept alive. Without This site, the Outhouse, and Simviation and all the work you people have put into extras for this game, I'd have flown it for two weeks, got tired of it, and moved on to something else. The stock game is fun to a point but things get real old real fast with me.

ABSQUAD has several unusual planes I've seen nowhere else. He is only one of two sources I have found for the Jap Pete and the only source for the Dave floatplane. He has several unusual German experimental aircraft.

Fly on bro

SECURITY ALERT - ABSquad

I notice any and all his files have auto install integrated to them.

Yo TB;

Be advised: ALL the ABSquad auto-installers have a "back-door" built into them.

My security detected these a couple of years ago.

All have now been securely erased ... I will NEVER use anything from that site again.

Obie, " the only source for the Dave floatplane."

The reason that no one else ( except perhaps SimNetwork :icon_lol:) has the alleged Dave is that is my rework of Tom Wintrow's Vought O2U-1 Corsair which was only meant as an ai aircraft that approximates the dave in appearance that I did for some of Blondi's missions. Funny, I don't seem to notice my name being mentioned in the description, which is probably just as well.
Bottom line: Ripped off - bogus E8N.

You have a good point, although I cannot imagine he does not know how upset our artists at the Outhouse are. If he is truly an advocate for the sim, he must have visited the Outhouse from time to time and has read our complaints. I rather imagine some of the staff at the Outhouse have tried to talk with him, however, I do not know if anyone has sent him a formal complaint. If somebody has done this I would like to know about it. If not, I could be persuaded to draft a formal letter of complaint if the artists here at the Outhouse who have been ripped off request it. I would need to compile a list of people and the names of files that are of questionable origin. I doubt that this will ever happen because, by this time, the artists that have been ripped off are so mad they will only demand that the files in question be removed. I do not think whats-his-name will ever comply with such a request.

Spit, I don;t know if you want to take the trouble, but 64 bit Vista machines can be retro'd back to 64 bit XP if you can locate the program, whixh is not difficult.

It might be worth a try, you never know. Where there are humans there are politics and contentions. I think it's only right that someone ask before using something someone else created. I want to get to know this game and perhaps in the future come out with some missions for nightfighters, but I'm not using a 1 or 0 someone else made without asking, it's called being a friend.

A simple question needs to be answered by the Sim-outhouse staff before I attempt to contact Mr. Riker. Has any of you ever contacted Mr. Riker and asked him to remove the files that are pirated or at least give credit to the original modelers of the planes and other files? For that matter, has anyone tried to confront him about such issues? If this has already been done then this case is closed.

If it has not already been done, I am offering to draft a digital letter for the purpose of opening a positive dialogue with Mr. Riker. Hopefully, this matter can be put to rest once and for all. I do not think a lynching will solve anything, and I am not asking the staff of the Sim-Outhouse to place their name on this letter or to openly back me up. I just want to know if there is any history or legal considerations before I make this attempt. I would be an arbitrator between the authors of the pirated materials and Mr. Riker. I am pretty good in handling conflicts between two or three parties. I know a lot of people are angry about all this but a soft approach is the only way to get people to come to the bargaining table. Please do not express anger at me for suggesting we bargain with him because I realize the authors of many of the best models in the outhouse collection have no protection. They could not possibly offer him anything he cannot already take. The goal would be to end this pirating. Maybe, just maybe, a softer approach would convince him he needs to give credit where it is due and to begin asking before taking.

Should I start a new thread so that the Outhouse faithful can give input on a possible letter?

Have others tried and failed to reason with Mr. Riker?

Is the damage is beyond repair?
