ACC on line site

I have joined the ACC on ProBoards and notice that the last post was over a year ago (not including mine) and was wondering if it is still up and running or if there are other sites to multi-play CFS1 on? And ( I have loads of questions) are we able to use the built in mic on laptops or no? and how does one go about changing .text files to .zip files when I click on it in Mozilla Firefox it doesn't allow me to rename it and when I rename it after download it doesn't function and I notice to get TeamSpeak to work you have to have an IP address and there lies another unknown....plus with all the downloads available after trial and error (mostly error) they all just don't get dumped in the directory do they?....lets take the Corsica download it has Textures and several other subfolders... do you seperate em and put em in scenery and textures seperately or what? anyway I have all the downloads I care to have but am having issues finding where exactly they go and I got the WWI and am leaving that one alone til I figure out where in the world it goes...and I have put new missions in the mission file but they too are no shows....ditto w/campaigns....call me a big dummy but it is rather confusing. Like I said I have all sorts of questions....I can think of about three more but back to playing on line...is ACC the only game in town???

hello Sam,
lots of questions there.
let's go at it one at a time, okay.

i really don't know where you came up with
"the last post was over a year ago"
it's true, there is not a lot
of activity at the AAC forum,
but, i posted at there yesterday.
heck, you've got 10 posts in 2 hours.

the AAC meets every Sunday
at noon Eastern.
look at my signature over there
and you will see the TeamSpeak IP.
if you want to test it out,
the TS server is on 24/7.
as for the laptop mic,
there is usually a problem with background noise,
and possibly feedback, but it will work in a pinch.

my apologies about the essential downloads.
i need to fix the links to the freeflight site,
but i've been a little busy lately.
sorry about that.

if you can be patient,
we can help you get connected.
we've got a week to get you going.

Create a new Folder in your C; directory...name it Scenery
Inside you new Scenery folder...make another new folder...name it corsica

Drop the contents of the Maintx folder into your main CFS Texture directory.( NOT the scenery all/texture folder)place in: Program files Micro-Games, CFS1, texture folder
Drop the texture folder in the C:Scenery\corsica\texture folder.
Drop the scenery folder in the C:Scenery\corsica\scenery folder.
IN the CFS1 scenery Library:exactly as I have it typed below
Installation in scenery library, c:\Scenery\corsica\scenery\*.bgl check mark active and local , ok, ok, ok done
If you have downloaded previous versions: see below
LET ALL FILES OVER WRITE in order to allow for texture and scenery updates, fixes, changes and such

Hi smilo:wavey:

Hello tazmo8448:wavey:

I was making my daily "milk run" at our forum site (BTW; AAC, not ACC...) and found pretty much the same questions... spread in eleven posts!

What is comforting, smilo, is that we gave basically the same answers.:applause:

I don't know, tazmo, how well verse you are in PC tweaking-ology, but changing a file suffix is a pretty basic skill. Nevertheless, you will find a bunch of guys, here and at our forum, willing to help you "learn the ropes".

Thanks guys

***AAC*** ACC must be the March Madness.....and thanks on where to put all the good stuff...I had 'em all over the place after copying and pasting til I was blue in the face...opened the C:\ file and it looked like something a mad scientist had gotten a hold of. I plan on visiting ya'll Sunday and just sit in and listen, somebody can twist my arm on flyin' but as of yet haven't gotten a headphone/mic just headphones but I was hoping to turn off all ambient sound and use the built in laptop mike. I did download the necessary files like teamspeak and the other two that escape me at the moment (one was the CFo I do remember) but have been unable to open them....anyway thanks again and yeah I was a little frisky on the posts...I have never gone online to play anything and like an idiot thought all you had to do was click on something and go... the whole internet thing has been a true learning experience.

.txt to .zip

When I clicked to download, first off it would not let me change the suffix in Firefox downloader, then when it did download (desktop) I tried to change the suffix again and even when doing so it still gave me an error message can ya'll just send me one you have changed over and I'll get rid of these. I did a notepad config fix kinda similar when I finally got the joystick to work, that really set the whole thing off.. after all these yrs and it put the biggest grin on my face... to dust off the old game and zoom around again....and then to find dedicated gamers... well it made my day..and I was all hyped up to wax some tail.
Later.
