Its an old alpha sim Sprerrin model that I've recently dug out I've encountered the issue before but I cant remember how to solve it

This must be the CFS2/FS2002 model. I have downloaded the package from the Virtavia freeware site to explore the package. But there isn't a clue in the package. The readme file doesn't contain any information and when I look at the package I don't have a clue how they store your "accidental choice".

When overwriting the installed files doesn't help "your choice" must be stored somewhere else.

Have you tried all the common command like back slash, the wing fold command, the arrestor hook, command etc?

If that doesn't help you can try to move your FS9 config file somewhere else and see what happens than. When "your choice" is stored somewhere outside the aircraft, the bast place seems to be in the FS9 configuration file.

Just my best guess, not really based on knowledge :biggrin-new:

Huub nailed it, got my memory working.... it is indeed a section in the fs9.cfg file you just need to delete.

Try this ection: [FrameCallNoWarn]

I'm not sure, but I'll bet that when you answered the question in the dialog box, FS added that plane to this list so the box wouldn't keep popping every time you select that plane. I believe that removing it from that list will make the box pop again and give you the chance to answer the question again, the way you want to.

One caveat - being as how it's a very old model, built with very old software, even if you answer the question correctly doesn't necessarily mean that all the animations will work. On some old models, some animations just won't work in FS9.

Thanks guys that rings a bell I'll give it a try when I get back as I'm staying with family for the holidays I hope you all have a good one

Cheers

I did think that maybe the case but I've had it running correctly in sim before as I stumbled upon some old 'what if' repaints I knocked up for it back in the day I'm revisiting them now just for something to do. I may put them up when I'm done if anyone's interested

Just got back to the machine can anybody point me in the direction of the fs9.cfg I cant seem to find it

Cheers

The location is depending the operating system you use. As this is a system file it is a hidden file by default. So you should have your settings in such a way that you can see hidden files.

in most cases the path towards the fs9 configuration file is something like this:

C://users/*Your userid*/Appdata/Roaming/Microsoft/FS9/fs9.cfg
