Aces campaign mission questions

:isadizzy:I have been working with DD73 on his Bong_Complete and McGuire_Complete.
What my question is that when you write a mission youwrite a unit no. and type_id
like this
id=9160
type_id=3806
What my question is that how do you know what the type_id=number is to identify on which object it is?
Thanks, John:salute::salute:

By looking down lower for the same type_id number in the [unit_type.X] section. Its all spelled out there.

...What does the number mean in spelled out terms.

That's a second question John, not the initial. In your initial query you wrote "What my question is that how do you know what the type_id=number is to identify on which object it is?

So, to answer both questions, the numbers actually mean nothing significant. Just random numbers that the program assigns to objects, including aircraft. Its just sim's way of correlating a type number to an object for its own programming purposes. But for the user viewing the file in Notepad, it "spells out" or identifies the objects that can be altered in the [unit_type.X] section lower in the file and then provides the editor a visual cue to connect them to the data in the upper sections pertaining to waypoints, load-outs and other miscellany.

Using your example, if your player model has been assigned the type_id=3806 by the Mission Builder and you decide to change that model to an alternative using Notepad, you can locate that model easier by finding the type_id in the lower [unit_type.X] section and simply change the model's folder name there to the folder name of the one you desire. Nothing else is needed. The id number can remain as is.

missing objects or sceneries

:isadizzy::isadizzy:Can anyone help me with this problem, Ihave been working with DD73 on his Bong and Mcguire package's.
In the mission #26 and #27 I get this message of scenery library object not found ID:eek:x4c65726f,ox4c65726f,ox4c65726f,oxooooo100.
I thing that I have all the downloads in that is needed but who knows
Thnaks, John:salute::salute:

I have no idea what that means. Have you tried to open both mission in MB and see if will tell you what is missing?

Good evening,

What that means is there is a missing object NOT in the mission, but when the GSL file loads for that specific location. Where does the mission start? Did you make sure you have everything you need for the GSL scenery?

I'am not sure Rami, I will open the mission file up and check the location.

Rami, when I click on the mission #26 to run even before I start the engines I get that report if missing object. The take off strip in the mission is Philippines-Tacloban Strip
The MR Philippine scenery did not have any GSL files.
So now what do I do, this thing is driving me nuts?

If i remember right you don't need them in the airbase.dat to run the mission. the mission its self contains the location. I could have this backwards. but i believe thats right.

what i would do is start a new install and begin with a clean slate. then you can compare the two.

are you adding the scenery directly or through the library?

you could also try removing the gsl gobs then run the mission and see if you still get the error. as long as you have everything for the mission its self it should work.

thats all i've got.
