ACG - 81st Tactical Fighter Wing - RAF Bentwaters & Woodbridge FS9

Hi

The Airfield Construction Group (ACG) this week released its first 'free to download' scenery;

We have been working with the Cold War Museum on the Bentwaters site, which is run by the Bentwaters Aviation Society (http://www.bentwaters-as.org.uk). Unprecedented access to the site, which is now privately owned, has been given to us and that has been really worthwhile. It has enabled us to produce high resolution, realistic textures, that have been carefully worked on to refresh them back to their original time period using information from historic photographs too.

What's included:
Accurate custom built buildings on both airfields
Custom Trees and Fencing
Night lighting
Ground imagery provided by Justflight for both versions from their VFR Real Scenery product
Custom Landclass
Accurate AFCAD with parking placed from official airfield plans
AI for both airfields (over 100 repaints)
Realistic Weekly flight plans

Please register on the forum at http://www.airfieldconstructiongroup.org

(please note: due to spammers registration needs to be accepted by admin so please be patient and wait for your account to be activated)

thanks

Can't believe knowone's mention'd this yet, these really are supurb airfields, and for the level of complexity, pretty easy on the frames, ive moth-ball'd the version i did a few years back and have move'd into my new home, if you like'd Waddington, leuchars and Coningsby, you'll love these.
Thanks guys :ernae: , cheers ian

I tried too register with the ACG group 3 times now and been unsucessfull.

Ian

Stalin was the username i was trying mate.

Steve

Just let everyone know, that the activation is by the user not the admin as from now. So if you register you do not need to wait for activation, this is due to the demand over the last couple of days.

Registration wasn't a problem here........very nice stuff !!

My father flew F-84's out of Bentwaters back in the late '50s. I've located our duplex ( still there!!) and a little patch of woods I used to play in on Google Earth.

Nice messages everyone, glad you are enjoying the scenery.

@Stalin; we dont have any account with that user name, but as Ian has said registration activation is now by user instead of admin, so please have another go.

Stevo ;)

I am currently using the FSX version, and it is truly an amazing accomplishment of scenery detail. Had no problems signing up myself ...

Just took a quick hop around in my usual "scenery exploring" S-55:

This scenery is truly amazing!

I'm particulary fond of the well-weathered textures.
How did you guys get a complex and jaw-dropping dense scenery like this so easy on the frames?

Incredible... :applause: :medals: :ernae:

Thank you so much for sharing!

Any plans for a little step-back in time?
I'd love to see those Vipers and Warthogs replaced by Sabres... :bump:

Cheers,
Markus.

Just to proof my statement above:

These shots were taken at the "twin bases" with the A2A Jug. Note the FPS display!

Rig and settings:
P4 dual core, 3 GHz, 2G RAM, ATI Radeon 3800 (AGP), 512 MB, running at 1680x1050, all sliders more or less maxed, real weather.

I've never experienced a detailed scenery like this running so smooth!

Simply awesome!

Thanks, Ian - she's "mine"! :d

I did the repaint on the A2A/WoP P-47, it was available at SOH (filename p47_5fa.zip) but currently broken linked...

But she's at AVSIM too:
