Achim or Other Airbase Builders

I acquired a much sought after aerial photo of Miyakojima Airbase 1945 during the BPF campaign.

Can anybody recreate this IJAAF base?

Thanks,

Lee

Devildog73,

Achim had a family member pass away a couple of weeks ago, and suspended his work on airbases for a short while. I was planning on contacting him this week to see how he was holding up.

I'll can give her a try, starting next week. after my Christmas travels if you like. Given north on the photo. it should be easy to calculate the runway orientations. using mt protractor. Sorry for the delay,

Shadow Wolf 07,

Achim has graciously redone my first attempt at an airbase: Miyakojima and is going to do Nabara after Christmas.

My understanding from my reading is there was a 3rd airfield on Miyakojima: Nansei, which looked a lot like Nabara, but there are differences when one looks closely at the photos in the link below.
http://www.uss-bennington.org/stz-air-war-history-45.html
about 1/3 down the page shows all three in fairly good detail.

If you would be so kind, could you do the Sukama airfield while Achim is doing Nabara?

I believe the one I did and Achim "fixed" for me was named: Hirara Airfield.

I believe the one missing is Sukama Airfield.

Oops, I do not have nearly the correct layout, if the one I did was Hirara: https://www.google.com/search?q=Hir...%2FDad's%2520web%2520page%252013.html;449;296

This also means once I have all three airbases on Miyakojima, there are going to be more and bigger bombing missions in BPF Campaign.

Okay,

I rebuilt my airbase to reflect Hirara Airbase Miyako Jima. I set the altitude at 30 meters.

I deleted the old Miyako Jima files. Did a search of all bgls on my hard drives to delete any other miyako jima bgls that were once used.

I deleted all layouts for the island.

As far as I can see I now only have one airbase on that location.

Yet, when I fly, I see my old airbase and I don't know whose with the bright green grass and two white hangars.:dizzy::dizzy:

Take a look. What can I do to correct this?

Thanks,
DD73

Devildog,

Good morning. Not having the scenery installed myself, it's evident that something is running interference. Make sure to uninstall any GSL that you did, and then finding the BGL files is essentially testing and a process of elimination, unfortunately.

DD,

Seeing it's not a blended background (Maskrider has Ishigaki in his Japan No1 pack, but no other Sakishima bases), my guess it's the remains of one of Steve McLellands Far East airbases (these were included in the Fox Four campaigns).

But it's just a guess :indecisiveness:

I installed my Miyako Jima airbase into my pristine CFS2 with no other airbases showing.

That is the good news. The bad news is I cannot get the flatten correct.

All my background between my runways shows up black from the air.

I can land on the runways, but drop down through scenery levels to get to the runways.

I don't understand this, because I landed on the island before any installation of airbase scenery and took the altimeter readings as I taxied around where the airbase would be. I did my flatten from those readings.

Rami, GSL????????? I don't do GSL because I don't even know where to start on GSL. I am having enough problems trying to build airbases and I had a great teacher.

I must be a bit slow witted........

UncleT,

I uninstalled all of my Asian sceneries and the problem went away when I reinstalled my Miyako Jima airbase.

I will re-install the other scenery one at a time until I find the bugger!
