Add-ons stuff question

A simple question: Can I use FS Scene, Ultimate Environment (Alaska/Canada) and Ground Environment all at the same time without causing a cascade destruction of the known Universe or, worse yet, screwing up my FS installation?

LA

In actual practice I only use FS Scene so can't provide a practical answer.

However, according to the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, execution of all three at the same time might well fry the infinite improbability drive resulting in your plane resembling a tangled ball of yarn - or worse - the complete destruction of Earth.:isadizzy:

I wouldn't know about your specific configuration, but I have mixed Ground Environment Pro with Photoveg, and European Enhanced Terrain.
It's the best scenery I've ever had on fs9 with no fps hits.

Something else to consider. When I added GE, which I found quite satisfactory, what seems to have happened is either its own files became the installed ones or the default FS ones were renamed to get them out of the picture. Either way, some other addon textures require that you disable the FS ones they replace usually by renaming them. When confronted this way I have always had to stop because the default files are no longer obviously identified and I don't want to go down that path unless I have a clear and easy way so see my way back out. Most recently I did this installing FFBermuda but I might give it another whack. I remember it really looked great before I added GE. I believe photoveg works like you said because the files I'm talking about, like those in NAMC/Scenery, are not involved with that one.

Racartron - having thought about this A LOT for a day or so, I've decided that I do not really give a monkey's naughty bits about either Earth OR the Universe. But my FS installation is another matter entirely! Thanks, though, for the metaphysical/temporal consideration. LA

Hopefully your planes do not turn into potted plants or whales (which are NOT areodynamic).

PS. Zaphod Beeblebrox = President Obama (Without the third arm or second head). Yet I digress.

Hi LA,

If you mean Ultimate Terrain - Canada and Alaska, This will work well with the other two.

However both FScene and Ground Environment replace the default ground textures so as only one set of textures can be used at any one time you'll have to decide which to use. Its a simple choice and there is no risk of a hostile visit by the Death Star ....
