Advanced MiG-19 variants

I have always been fascinated with old Soviet-designed jet fighter aircraft - the men I helped train during my military service would have been up against them if the Cold War had ever gone "hot." Messrs Mikoyan and Gurevich, and the others, didn't have some of the sophistication our designers had to employ in the design process but they coped well enough.

While looking through what's available in MiG-19s for FS9, I've noted we seem to have a good selection of the MiG-19C and its associated Shenyang derivatives. To my knowledge no one has come up with a MiG-19M or any radar/missile-armed variants. Does anyone know of one of these that might be available for download? I've "Binged" the MiG-19M but after reviewing about 16 pages of hits none of them panned out.

Now you're talkin"..!

Right on!..wouldn't it be grand to have the Q-5 or any addition versions of the Mig-19 series? The '19 looked 'fast' just standing still on the ramp!..and the Q-5 is even sleeker.
While we're asking ...anyone know of a Yak-28 Brewer /Firebar suitable for FS9 or FSX??? That would top off my 'cold War' period hanger quite nicely..!

That wouldn't be the Yak with the two jet engines under swept wings and a HUGE round nose radome on the front, would it? There was a model kit of one of those at one time, I can remember it.

Big Nosed brute!!

Right you are there SS101..! The Yak-25 series had the rather portly snout.! but the later variants of the Yak-28's (Firebar) took on a longer and leaner look. Rather an odd looking bird and a handfull on the piloting end of things I understand.......had the unusual main gear arrangement in-line fuselage (B-52 style) with wingtip outriggers.

Yak-25/28 series info..... http://www.vectorsite.net/avyak25.html

Still though, would be nice to have one in FSX..Hint! Hint!
