Advice on SLi from the devs please.

I have two 8800GTXs but am currently using only one as I had a little moment with my SLi board and had to retire it (MSI POS).

How does this sim like SLi? Is it worth me getting a new mobo (and some DDR3 RAM while I'm at it, might as well go the whole hog)?

It would also be nice to see all four cores running, but I'm guessing the old CFS3 engine isn't up for that.

Nvidia 8800GTX 768MB x2 sli
4 GB Corsair DDR2 800
1TB hard drive

I do not know if sli actually makes any difference to CFS3 but someone more expert than I will no doubt offer up a thought or two.

Nvidia have ( i believe) released new drivers this month which I have yet to d/l and install. The boys over on FSX at SOH seem to see an improvement with the new drivers.

P3BHAH works well on my system and I get decent frame rates just about everywhere.

From memory ( I am presently at work) Sliders 554555

Max fps I can recall is around the 75 mark.

I did run p2 fully maxed out when I first acquired my present rig last year but then my nerve gave out, although my rig didn't, so I dropped Terrain back a notch

I believe the lowest I have seen is the late 20s . I do not usually run either the Z key or any other fps programme, such as FRAPS when I am flying OFF largely because my gameplay is smooth and I have not needed to scrutinise it.

Certainly, I have at no time experienced any noticeable degradation in the sim gameplay even when fps are occasionally late 20s.

Thanks Nio. Sounds like the SLi is making the difference, between my 12fps min and your 25+ fps min.

I'll see what the devs say, but it looks like I might be getting myself an SLi board.
