Aerocar in auburn california

saw this lil aerocar at the EAA golden west flyin at juba county airport over the weekend..talked to both ed and one of his sons...its going to be in auburn all summer..i asked if they would call me when they fly so i can see it....he took my name and number and then said.."insurance wont let me ask you to ride along though"...that cracked me up

I remember the first year he brought that to Oshkosh. I heard that they took the wings and tail off and drove it to a place for an oil change. Maybe an urban myth but it sounds like a cool story.
