AERONCA 7 Champ Public Release

And actually, the L-3 predates the Champ. The Champ was first flown around the end of the war and the L-16 is the Army (L-16B) and USAF/ANG (L-16A) version. Some of them (L-16Bs, maybe?) had a larger tail and some window differences, but many Champs have been painted to match them and Lagaffe's model is definitely close enough for use in the sim! (Very happy to let him work on the Canso now vs doing every Champ variant!)

A Korean-era L-16 Army scheme:

I'd love to see a USAF/ANG and/or CAP paint, if any of our talented livery artists are interested:

Well, "Cricket" and "Droopy" are uploaded. They are definitely fictional. Apart from this being the incorrect model and the one scheme being based on an O-1 livery, the fonts are not quite accurate, the placement of elements is approximated, and other details are creations of my own; but until someone with the talent for precision and accuracy tackles one of the above schemes, maybe some of you will enjoy them. I had fun making them, but I think I need to do less painting and more flying for a while.

@lagaffe, thanks again, and I'm really looking forward to what you're doing with the Catalina.

Folks, for me it flies even better in MSFS 2024. If you have that sim, try it. For some reason, I cannot get the spats in 2020, but no problem in 2024. On my set up I get smoother fps in 2024 too.

Yeah, FS2024 is still not without its problems, but I almost always get smooth performance, which was never true of FS2020. The Champ's a beaut and works perfectly there.

With the Decathlon out and the Scout coming up this month, we're gonna have a really nice lineage of these planes!

Hello everyone,
I'm pleased to present to you what's on my drawing board. Please note: this livery for the magnificent little bird developed by our friend Lagaffe isn't yet finished.
You'll be the first to know (just after Didier) when it's available.
This livery is that of a real aircraft whose "warping" caught my eye.
Please excuse my broken English.
Have a nice day.FlightSimulator_PBY8b8vvxJ.jpgFlightSimulator_C9gx5eLETV.jpg

Beautiful work! I know from experience how hard it is to line up the textures across the cowling, fuselage, door, vertical stabilizer, and rudder. You've done a much better and more patient job than I ever could. Looking forward to this one. I'm glad a talented painter took on a real-world livery for this excellent plane.

Hello,
Thank you for the compliments, but I'm not sure I deserve them.
As for the alignments, I must admit that it was particularly difficult.
Luckily, a talented painter, you, showed me the way. Thanks to the quality and detail of the Raven livery, I was finally able to better align my "Unwrap" on the texture sheets.

Thanks for the kind words, both (and that's a beautiful shot, @DennyA), but @b18volpar, I am in awe of those perfectly straight lines from nose to tail. Can't wait to see the finished product!

I don't know why lagaffe's champ isn't getting more livery love. It's one of my favorite light planes in the sim.

Thanks to @b18volpar aka "Pascal", finally you succeed in your project, hard but complete! BRAVO :p

PS: J had just finish to migrate one laptop (I5 5600 & 8Go) and my dev PC (i9 9900K & 32Go) from Win 10 to Win 11, with some little troubles but it's not so hard.
When you have understand the process and the limitation: it's fingers in the nose !
- have a recent PC (2016 for the laptop => 2h for the migration)
- verify that your system disk (hd/ssd) is formatted in GPT and don'ut use more than 3 partitions (for thoses under MBR think to use "mbr2gpt.exe", Google is your "friend" otherwise I can give some details and advises)
- download from github two little programs freeware: WhyNotWin11 and Flyby11
- download the last ISO of Windows 11 24H2
- and you are ready to migrate

and now Teams is again OK(y) ... but I have yet the PC of my wife to migrate :(
