Hi all.Has anybody been able to adapt any type of machine gun effect or gauge to the AF F4U Corsair?I'm looking for an effect similar to the Vertigo F6F Hellcat that works with the brake button inflight only. This would come in handy over Mark's 1943 Solomons!
Thank you.

Actually, I seem to remember either Mark or Tom Stovall had an effect for that as I asked the same question a year or two ago. However I haven't flown the Corsair in almost that long, so any recollection of the answer is long gone, lol. Hopefully they will see your thread and give you the answer. . .or you can try to PM them and see what they have.

Sent Stan a PM. I haven't made that effect for any aircraft in many years. Actually Hermann Boltz (Krazy) and myself developed the canon and machine gun firing system for CFS2 and FS9 and before. Now we are talking years ago.

Someone who uses the machine gun / canon firing system very effectively is Mike Cyrl of Flight Replicas. You can get a fantastic example of that by purchasing his fabulous Bf-109K It has the guns firing with and without shell casings. Mike did a very good job on the effects with blue tracers. Hope this helps.

We made aa-gunfire, tracers, watersplashes and flak burst effects, but not tracers or gunfire coming from the own aircraft. Shouldn't be too hard to produce something like that, though. The problem (or challenge :) ) is to make it look realistic.

Cheers,
Mark

I use the FR Me262 cannon effect by Rob Barendregt with a number of aircraft, though it uses carb heater as a trigger and doesn't work with all (Alphasim's F-105 and Voodoo for two). There was also a Spitfire version.

This is Lt. Col. Claiborne Kinnard 355th FG CO, letting rip in his last 'Man O'War'.

Thanks Dave,With the kind help of Hertzie, I got this figured out.I also used Robs ME262 gauge and effect avail. at Avsim. Here are the coordinates for the guns for the AF Corsair.

Its not perfect, but it works well with the 1A and 1D models. If only it could tear stuff up like the real ones......
