i want to re-program all my controllers in fsx,i remember about going in and renaming the .CFG..but shoould i go into the sim and delete all my settings and assignment first? close out,,then reopen FSX and go back and asign?..

No, I think deleting/renaming that .CFG file will be enough.
I'm not referring to FSX.cfg here, but to that other file, the one that contains these controls... what was the name again?.... Well, you know that one, right ?

The file is called standard.xml and is in the controls folder

C:\Users\userxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Controls
