AH Spitfire Mk 1 Skins

Have always wondered why there weren't more skins for this one. Great model with low frame rates and breaking parts, just a pity about the inaccurate flaps.

Anyway someone mentioned it a while ago and I started a skin then, had a rare window of spare time to do some more work and I'm up to here

Bit more weathering and a few finer details and I'll be quite happy, any ideas for different markings give me a shout

Hello Ian

A few stencil markings in the right places will definitely add to her looks, do you have much in the panel lines at all ?

Weathering you would need to check your references as there would be everything from factory fresh to badly faded with some repairs thrown in as well.

Extra markings - would like to see each of the nations that fought in the RAF Squadrons during the Battle of Britain represented, which is quite a few.

Hope you enjoyed painting those pixels !!!!!!! :applause:

Hi seagull,

Panel lines and rivets have all been put in but are a little weak in the mix here (transparency set a little low)

I have a few stencils for her but seeing as there doesn't seem to be a standard set i'll save them for individual paints. Will have a browse through your links

Good evening,

I agree with what has been said here...a variety of textures, from factory fresh to extremely "beat-up" and weathered would be appreciated. Take the original skins, for example. Along the wing root, the textures are so weathered, they are down to the bare metal.

As far as some specific paints, how about some "Aces," seeing as how you fly as some of them on the RAF side...Al Deere is the original KL-B, so there is no need to touch that one.

"Sailor" Malan comes to mind...

As for the older AH Hurricane...James Nicolson, Ginger Lacey, Tom Gleave, Josif Frantisek, Peter Townsend, and Manfred Czernin.

New textures would be great. The AH Mk I has always been my "go to" AI Spitfire for 1940 action over England and France.
