AI min airspeed

Is there any way to slow down the AI to that of a carrier? I would like to get them to about 25KTS and an alt. of 0 on up. The reason is then you could have them land on a carrier and park or have them parked on the carrier and then move the same speed as the carrier.:typing:

Bob, I believe that is done with the ai folded wing aircraft. Download one and take a look at the dp and cfg - pretty sure they are on simviation

I tried them just to see what would happen and they didn`t work but I have an idea ,will post if it works.:typing:

Perhaps the answer may be in the LSO settings, Just my suspicion. perhaps someone who understands the LSO settings could shed some light.

I sure wish we could set up the AI in the MB so that we ,as mission builders , could controll the alt. and speed of the AI AC.:typing:

Bob,

I'm not sure CFS 2 can handle slow AI airspeeds very well. I know that the original CFS 2 helicopters would fall out of the sky until Baldy came up with his H-19 which seems to fly pretty slow as an AI and not crash. You might try its airfile.

Whose...

...H-19? :faint:

But the perfection of the AI chopper in CFS2 is the work of Doug Attrel, Grumpy, aka Hagar in the Fox Four S-51.

I noticed that the Folded wings AI when taking off unfold there wings just before takeoff. What I think happens is the PC reads the min alt and speed of the plane with the largest min speed and alt. and uses that as a guide to controll the alt and speed at the second waypoint. It sure would be nice if someone that knows what they are doing could atleast look into this.It would be nice to be able to controll the AI from start to finish.:typing:

Hi Bob,

I think that the "Folded Wings" are just in the most detailed LOD. So when the AC switch LOD's the wings are no longer folded.
I did not know very much about Model files and LOD's back when I did those mods.

P.S. The only way to get really slow speeds is to hand edit the mission after it is finished.

Unfortunualy this is one of those weak point of this other wise good Sim. We are just going to have to live with it. All Sim have weak points.

Yes, it would we fine if someone could fix this!:wavey:
