AI - Pseudo Turbine Engines using Prop Engines

I've been wanting to test this idea for a while. I don't have AirWrench to quickly play around as easily but will try it out with AirEd.

I'd like to possibly see if there is any positive effect on the AI if we create a pseudo turbine engine using stacked mini super powered prop engines.

As in a single engine jet, put 2,3 or even 4 engines one after another in a close stack. Play with the numbers to create the right balance.

Going to try to test this and pit identical AI A/C with the engine difference and see the outcome.

Problem right away is the sound since AI don't use the A/C sound folder.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

---------------

Just did some rough tests with corsair airfiles, and the pseudo engined planes definitely own the skies.

Will add on later.

It seems to really up the AI.

It's difficult to match up thrust (LB) to Power (HP) ...

more info here ... http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/propulsion/q0195.shtml

But the AI really does become more aggressive and maneuverable. I was not using flight and engine inputs in the cfg so all of it came from the air file.
Edited the files with AirEd.

I put 3 engines together in a stack to make a pseudo turbofan. Now I dont know how complex air is modeled in the game so I don't know if the air is reacting differently going through each engine fan, but after pitting AI's against each other with different engine configurations the "turbofan" sure gives them an edge. Used an F-16 model, for aesthetics and the engines would even allow them to go almost near vertical and go slightly over 800 knots and generally perform well.

The engines were fuel injected and turbo charged with high RPM, no carb cut out, water cooled.

Somethings I'm not sure about are prop type, from 1 - 3 options.

Looking through AirWrench I'm not sure if all options work for cfs2 but I think further changing prop diameter and prop blades, etc might further advance the engine.

Just playing around with some ideas, if anyone wants to add in please do.
