Aiming Aids?

Hi Airmen,

is there a way to get rid of these windshields and the aiming tube in the nuieports, the SE 5 also? Some keystroke combination? when I would have been a real live WWI jockey, I would have kicked these "goodies" elsewhere.

yepp, thx, I know that. But I wanna keep the VC and loose the sights, not add sights and instruments and loose the VC.:ernae:

Some of the models in the game are just easier to aim with, than others. While I really like the guns on the Dr1 and Albatross, I can't hit anything flying the darned Halberstadt. If I don't get out of that thing soon, I fear that Leutnant Maben's career will be a short one.

I do not think you can easilly get rid of the windshield or the iron sight other than using the no cockpit view F3. I agree with you that I would not want to fly other than inside the VC. The team went to a lot of trouble to recreate and represent the VCs and some are downright gorgeous.

IIRC doesn't hitting F6 give you an accurate view right down the iron sight (aiming tube). This may actually assist you in hitting targets.

This will temporarily disable TrackIR if you are running it but pressing it again, I believe, will restore normal TrackIR functionality.

As usual I am at work and unable to comment with certainty on the above but I hope it may help.

Thx nio, I was afraid there is no other way, than dealing with it.

Ivanmoe, this is why I want to loose the sights, aiming freely, streching out your arm and holding thumb up, closing the left eye, than peeping through this tube.

Anyway, don`t get me wrong on this one, the VC are of a superb quality. But to be honest, I don`t belief any of the pilots in these days were aiming with that thingie.

On the Nieuport 17 with the Vickers only, you can lower the windscreen. . Shift C

As far as the SE5a is concerned. . Fly the Viper Variation, the tube sight isn't featured :kilroy:
