'Air India Crash: Pilot Error Or Dangerous Airport?'

Yeah, the person the article quoted in depth sure came across as an objective aviation expert! NOT!!!!!

Let's wait for a sober and clear-thinking team of aviation accident investigators to report in before jumping to any conclusions. The guy quoted in this article has "agenda" written all over him!

Frankly, I seriously now question the quality of the Christian Science Monitor. I thought they were better than this. Even the wording in other sections is questionable, "must log fewer hours," is one example. What does that mean? Is the writer trying to say a pilot in training will be jailed if he logs a single minute over some cap?

From FOXNews...(Note: It should be interesting to see what the final investigation results show)

The Mangalore airport's location, on a plateau surrounded by hills, made it difficult for the firefighters to reach the crash site, officials said. Aviation experts said Bajpe's "tabletop" runway, which ends in a valley, makes a bad crash inevitable when a plane does not stop in time.

"If the pilot overshoots the runway, the aircraft will be in trouble," said Asif, an aviation expert who uses one name.
