Airbase issues in QC

mongoose

SOH-CM-2025
So I have QC showing bases that are not in my qclocations.xml, inc. 2 with same city name, nor my global_layer.csv, and bases which are in both files not showing in QC.:dizzy::banghead: They may be, and one is, in another install, but that should have no effect. I have done searches in both files under both airbases city name and ID to find the duplicate airbase (not found) and one which isn't even there(also not found).

Am I correct in assuming that the only relevant files for bases to show in QC are the above 2 files? I should add that the mb does show a missing base and does not show the duplicate.:dizzy:

I don't know for sure, but what about cutscenes.xml? That is a very large and unwieldy file listing airbase facilities. But I would have thought that for an airbase to show in QC, it would have to be in the qclocations.xml. Have you done a search of the qclocations file?

Yep. Searched. Might try with notepad++ though. That doesn't account for the one in qclocations and gsl but not showing up as an airbase to fly from.
cutscenes should decide which base one takes off from , just the background, IIRC.

Back to this. Starting QC I have 2 Koln-Ostheims

coleGE046 is not even in this install's qclocation file, although it is in another install.

Restarted the install and still have 2

This not in qclocations ID but the city name is correct

This the correct city name and ID

Note also that no Muncen-Rien showing although it's in the qclocation file

<City Name="Munchen-Rien">
<Airbase ID="Munrei" Lat="N48*07’81.00" Lon="E11*43’6.32" Terrain="CFS3Europe" GlobalLayer="CFS3Europe1943"/>
</City>

Of course the latter and

<City Name="Koln-Ostheim">
<Airbase ID="coleost" Lat="N50*56'14.97" Lon="E7*3'13.22" Terrain="CFS3Europe" GlobalLayer="CFS3Europe1943"/>
</City>

are both in the gsl, and only them.

Well the problem may have been solved by

- The airbase mos files were not correctly named by me (all new airbases)

- I really should redo my PC's OS from start, as I've had the same OS setup for 10 years! ( Win7 to win10) Showing signs of age as is its owner.:biggrin-new:

yes were all showing age :untroubled:. I was having all sorts of issues with edits not sticking in PTO Solomons. Then I ran multicfs3 and discovered it was writing to the stock appdata folder !!??! Thats another little trap for the unwary...
