Leeuwarden NJG 1/2 base in Holland on the north west coast. Large base that was converted to NATO use during the Cold War.

In fact there are two missions requiring this airbase, thse missions are from Mongoose : Greiner_vs_BC_260543 and Greiner_vs_BC_260543_no_ai
Adding this airbase in it's proper location will require to modify the player's takeoff position to Lat="N53*13'32.8900"" Lon="E5*49'52.9750"

For a stock install use voll143 which is one of the Dutch airbases.
On this spot one started in 1938 with private airplanes. The Germans occupied the Netherlands in 1940. The Luftwaffe made a "Fliegerhorst" (airbase). The Germans forces constructed a runway-system. They used the debris of Rotterdam, the down that was bombed by the Germans in may 1940.
The Germans operated from the airfield: ME 109, ME 110 and Heinkel HE 111.
The base was bombed often during the war. The Germans were keen to repair the damage quickly, because the HE 111 could reach the British isles from this airbase.
In 1944 the damage was so big the Germans couldn't use the concrete runways anymore.
The other airbase that is mentioned in this thread is Volkel airbase. Constructed by the Germans in 1940. It was used bij Ju-88, ME 262 and had a lot of flakguns, because it was on the route to the Ruhr. In august and september 1944 (Market Garden), the base was bombed so heavily that it was abandonned.
