Airbases Data File

Ok this is another one of those questions: I have a CFS2 PTO install, the first 72 entries in the Airbases Data file are ETO bases:

1. Do they have to be there, are they mandatory default entries ?

2. Can they be replaced with new entries ?

3. How many total entries are allowed ? example the first is ID#8000 (first PTO applicable airbase) and the last is ID#9077 (Last ETO Airbase). This being said is 1077 the total number of entries allowed ?

Hi T Square,

No they don't have to be there - they can be replaced with whatever you wish.

I have nearly 1000 entries in my PTO airbase file and almost 1500 in my ETO/MTO/EF one.

1077 could be the cut-off point for Mission Builder. Airfields don't show up in MB above that number or thereabouts.

The ETO bases can be removed and replaced with new ones, no problem.

In older systems the file size was the limiting factor, not the total number of bases. With newer PC's I haven't heard of anyone running into a problem. The best way to check is see if you can write a mission using the last runway. As long as it shows up as a choice in Mission Builder you should be OK.

Remember, runway numbers must be in sequential order, any breaks and everything below the break won't show up in MB. ID numbers can be any four numbers but cannot be repeated.
