Aircraft cfg question

I am working on a repaint for Aeroplane Heavens Photo-reconnaissance version.

I have tried and tried with no luck to get the new paint to show up in the game. It shows up fine in ACM, and I have made cfg entries many times, but this one will just not work.

Can someone please look at these entries and let me know if you see a problem.

Here is the original:

[fltsim.1]
// S
title=Mosquito Mk XVIPRb
sim=mosquito_MkIV
model=PR
panel=
sound=
texture=PR2
panel_alias =
sound_alias =
kb_checklists=Mosquito_check
kb_reference=Mosquito_ref
atc_id=N5591
atc_id_color=0x00000000
atc_parking_code =
atc_airline=
atc_flight_number=
ui_manufacturer=AH_de Havilland
ui_type=DH98 Mosquito
ui_variation=PR_MkXVI_US
description=B MKXVI Photo-reconnaissance of USAAF, 25th. BG 8thAF 1944
Many international forces used the Mosquito. The USAAF deployed Mosquitos in photo-reconnaissance roles. This example flew with the 25th. Bomber Group of the "Mighty 8th".
visual_damage=0
atc_heavy=0
atc_id_font=Verdana,-11,1,600,0

Here is what I have done for the repaint:

[fltsim.2]
// MM389
title=Mosquito Mk XVIPR MM389
sim=mosquito_MkIV
model=PR
panel=
sound=
texture=MM389
panel_alias =
sound_alias =
kb_checklists=Mosquito_check
kb_reference=Mosquito_ref
atc_id=MM389
atc_id_color=0x00000000
atc_parking_code =
atc_airline=
atc_flight_number=
ui_manufacturer=AH_de Havilland
ui_type=DH98 Mosquito
ui_variation=PR MkXVI MM389
description=MKXVI Photo-reconnaissance of USAAF,
visual_damage=0
atc_heavy=0
atc_id_font=Verdana,-11,1,600,0

Thank you!:ernae:

When I have such problems I first try just tossing the new texture in for the known working cfg. This way if it comes up with the new one OK then I can just copy the whole section, edit the UI variation and sequence number. If however the plane disappears or the model is all gray then there is an incompatibility with the texture and model. Hope that helps.

Try this ... replace your statement with this one:

ui_variation=PR_MkXVI_MM389

... and verify folder name:

texture.MM389

The fltsim entry looks pretty good. No errors I could find unless there is a conflict with [fltsim=0], which you're not showing. (I have a different setup with my JF Mossie.)

I agree with Milton, check the spelling of the texture folder. Make sure its not misspelled.

Thank you guys for the great suggestions. I tried them all and they did not work.

As a act of desperation, lol, I right clicked on the FS9 exe and then clicked on run as administrator. Well, guess what? It works!:faint: My repaint is there, and is working just fine. One of these days, I might get close to figuring out Vista, but I doubt it :banghead:

Thanks again for the help!:Banane09:

RobH this is a common problem under Vista. A way to bypass this problem is to switch off "User account management" in the security settings (names may differ a bit as I use the Dutch version of Vista).

Hope this helps,
Huub

Glad it worked out, Rob.

You are going to share that new repaint with us Mossie nuts, aren't you?? :typing:

Thanks everyone!

Huub, I have seen that recommendation before, but was afraid to try it for fear of messing things up.:caked:

I will upload them when I am finished. Here is what I have done so far. Not very happy with the one with the DDay stripes. The whole thing looks "fake" to me. I may re-do it without the stripes.
I think the PR version is coming out ok though.
