Hi All,
I have installed CD's Thorpe Abbotts, but when I select take off, it does not show up as an airfield, how do I register this scenery with mission builder?

Jack

Your airbases.dat file, found in the INFO folder, needs to be updated with the data for the added on bases. The addon download should have come with the new runway data entries and how to add them to that file on the readme or seperate document.

The process is relatively easy but you must have the runway data on the airbases.dat file for them to show up in Mission Builder.

Cheers :ernae:

Nope, Dosen't come with one, I emailed him, he says he dosen't fly CFS2 anymore so I'm on my own,

JEM,
than you have to create one. Take the last entry you have in yout file and make one digit more [runway.99] to [runway.100]

Go to free flight select the airfield. Then hit "uppercase and Z". You will see the position (which goes into your new entry) and the elevation. From the elevation subtract a couple of feet (trial and error) and put that into your new entry as well. The course is shown as well and that will be the heading in your new entry.
Make the allegiance "0" (that is neutral) and give units across to your liking and according to the width of the runway (I recommend 2).

The only problem is to find a good id. If you are building missions only for your own it is easy. Just take one which is not in your airbases.dat so far. Make sure you don' t have twice the same number for the id. For mission building, single missions and campaigns cfs2 is looking for id-numbers not for the entire entry. If you have two identical id's cfs2 takes the first one in the sequence of order and you could be 1000 miles away or more.

If you are going to upload missions/campaigns provide your airbases.dat as well to not confuse the eager fellow who want' s to fly your mission. It will not work on his pc with different id-numbers.

Cheers

Achim

PS: Currently I don' t have access to my deskop because I am moving house. I probably have the entries you are looking for but I cannot provide within the next two weeks.
