Airplane Heaven Hurricanes

hurricane3

SOH-CM-2023
I installed the AH Hurricanes but can't find a scenery folder for Hawkringe ,I thought there was a scenery folder that went with it before. Tried downloading it from other places but no scenery folder. I checked all the plane folders but couln't find it, anyone know where it is?

It's been a while, but I seem to think it just installed somehow, including the new ai and traffic file. If the a/c was installed using an installer, perhaps it is in the addon scenery waiting to be activated. Have you tried simply looking for Hawkinge when creating a flight? If all else fails I can send it to you.

A good thing to do when you're trying find stuff from an installer is to make a new folder somewhere, wherever you unzip your downloads to, run the installer again but point it to the new folder. That way you can instantly see what's gone where.

not in addon scenery

I already checked the addon scenery and it's not there waiting to be installed. I already extracted the installer to my documents ,I usually do this with selfextracters and there was no scenery folder in both downloads that I extracted. It's funny cause I thought sure ther was a scenery folder in my oridginal install.
I thought I had my very first install of the AH hurri's but can't find it on my CD's. so if you could send it too me that would be great. Thanks.

That Hawkinge scenery is also available as a separate item, on flightsim

Included is the base scenery, .mdl buildings and an AFCAD for the airfield. Two AI aircraft are also included. A Spitfire MK1a and a Hurricane MK1 to bring the airfield to life. Aircraft and scenery by Gary Burns.

Don't forget the rest of Gary Burns' WWII RAF aerodromes. Many use the same AI Spitfires and Hurricanes for their AI traffic. Just search for "Gary Burns" over at: flightsim.com

Alphasim's Waddington 1939 is also a nice addition to a retro FS9

Finally, our Cees Donker and Ian Elliott have both produced numerous older English airfields. They are all available here in the library.

Gary's stuff is here too if I remember right, search for 'Gary20', might have a space?

got it

Thanks emfrat , I got it and installed works great , wasn't aware that it was a separte download. Hawkinge works much better than the Biggin Hill download, I've only seen one spit and one Hurri both just sitting in revertments ,no one moves ,I put the bgl file in the right place and have traffic set at 100% but nothing moving yet . lots of modern Ga planes around.
With Hawkringe Hurris and Spits are taxing all over. Got it saved to deck thank you and the others for where to find old British fields.

Just for information there is a Tangmere scenery by John McKeon on Flightsim.com that has flightplans for five hurricanes to Biggin Hill and back.

Regards Paul Day.

British Airfields

And don't forget to check the library here for am additional selection of wonderfully dones bases from Cees Donker. I have a separate "Golden Wings" install for these bases, thus removing the modern GA traffic problem.

I'll check em all out

Thanks guys gonna check em all out, like the idea of a flight plan for Hurri,s and Spit's

wow

I haven't seen that happen yet all I ever see at Hawkinge is the AI taxiing around, and haven't seen any move at Biggen yet they just sit in their revertments.

Tangmere needs Nova textures to be installed.

Could it be that the a/c in the revetments are static scenery, and quite separate from an ai traffic file? That would explain why they are not doing anything.

I wondered about that

I wondered about the fact that they don't move, but the readme says to put the AI Hurricane and Spit in the aircraft folder which I already did with the Biggin Hill scenery and add the bgl file for six Hurris and Spits to fly around Biggin.
But no Spits or Hurris fly or even taxi ,I put every thing were it's supposed to be, there are just the two AI files for both fields and both have the same name ,so I just put the two AI hurri and Spit in the aircraft folder. The bgl files of course go in the scenery /world/scenery.
Should there be more AI Spits and Hurri's in the aircraft file? There are at least four Hurri's and Spits flying around Hawkinge ,so I thought the two I put in the aircraft file would be also used for the Biggin scenery.

AI Files

Hurricane,

You should see plenty of Spitfires and Hurricanes as well as C-47s if you have Burns' Down Ampney installed.

I put the traffic bgl files in my FS9>World>Scenery folder as you mentioned in your last post. You can also try placing it in your FS 9>Addon Scenery>Biggen Hill>Scenery folder. One or the other should work.

now I got company

That worked great ,I copied the file in scenery/world/scenery to Biggen Hill scenery folder and the Hurri and Spit in the revertments started right up and began taxing. Thanks so much ,I have much to learn.(i can't call myself little grasshopper cause I'am too old)

Hurricane,

I deactivated my old stock FS 9 traffic file so that I can have just select AI flying about in my cyber world. I mostly use the Calclassics AI and the traffic files that come with retro airfields like the WWII airfields.

For a treat, install Garry Burns' Down Ampney, Croiden and Biggen Hill aerodromes along with their AI files. Start a flight at Ampney Downs and then excort one of the C-47 Skytrains east south-east past London to Croiden. As you approach Croiden and Biggen Hill, you'll see up to eight or so Hurricanes and Spitfires in the landing circuits for the two adjacent airfields as well as C-47s transiting the area back to Down Ampney.

thanks

I'll download Crydon and Down Amprey first chance I get.
Right now I'am on disk 36 of 44 disks of my reinstall, gotta get an external HD.Already have Biggen.
