Please don´t be dissapointed by the silence.

Last night I saw on TV a documental about the fighting in the Aleutians. Really horrible weather. I like flying (sim flying) in horrid weather. I remember a Tirpitz mission by Rami. A heavy plane like a B24 would be great.

I don´t have an Aleutians install. First thing I would change the water texture with something more dark, not so Indic Ocean /Caribbean sea looking.

I´m an ETO/MED man and, although I have DL all your campaigns, I still have much to do in those other theatres. But I´m sure there will be many who will enjoy your creations!

Cheers, and enjoy your creating time.

Hi Talon,

Please don't move on - I'm sure many of us have been waiting for missions to go with the fabulous new Aleutian scenery and aircraft skins.

The only missions available at present are the ones done by Yo****sugu Nagata from the Japanese perspective.

Your hare work will be appreciated.

Thanks, Kevin :salute:

Well if they are waiting for missions for the new Aleutians scenery maybe they should speakup. But nooo, nobody wants to say anything but still expect it to be done. How are people to know what you want if you don't speakup?

I make missions for a challenge to see if things will work. If it doesn't work I find away to make it work. That's he enjoyment I get.

In conclusion IMO there is no real interest in an Aleutians campaign or Dutch Harbor attack mission set. That is of course except for the ones that asked me to do it originally. That's about 6 people.

Don't know if it helps but I would be interested in the campaign and missions. I didn't have a chance to respond last night. I do like the screenshots and think it would be challenging.

I also want to echo the thanks, your contributions are greatly appreciated. Since I have no talent for such things I appreciate all of the hard work from all of the contributors.

Sounds like a good and challeging time! I always enjoy something not so well known(by me anyway) Thank You for all your creativity and time, and research.:salute:

It would be a real shame if this doesn't proceed - I understand and sympathise with Talon's frustration - here's someone who wants to give us all a nice gift, I for one have no aptitude for mission building, and I sure appreciate the efforts of those like Talon who have - I just don't get round to saying it as often as I should, and for that I'm sorry :redf:

Sopwith,

With all you've done for this campaign you have nothing to be sorry about. You gave me my own private Aleutians Airforce. I can't do textures. Wait till you see the PBYs in action.

If you want to follow the progress of this campaign you will have to go to Lindsay Watts site.

I just returned home last night after several days on the road..
Talon, I do appreciate your efforts. I hope you continue with this campaign!

Al,

If you want to gauge the true interest in a project, look at the total downloads for it after a week or so in the library. While CFS 2 doesn't get the hits that it used to get, a good plane, skin, campaign, or library object will still get downloaded 50 or more times. Your recent PNG campain has 72 downloads as I type this and it has been up about a week. It will probably end up with about a hundred hits by the end of the month and that's about as good as it gets in CFS 2 these days.

If you are trying to gauge interest from the forum, you are not looking in the right place and you will only frustrate yourself. Like the old saying goes: Build it and they will come.

Jagd.

What you are saying it's a waste of time to post about what you are.working on. Or to keep people informed with progress reports. All everyone wants is a download.

That is basically what I get from your post.

If that is the way it is,time to go.

Al, make the missions you want to fly. Please your self first. Sure, if your having fun doing what you do then post about it. Just because us numbskulls is slow to respond does not mean we do not appreciate seeing what you're up to.

Al,

That's not what I said and you know it. Fact is though, most people don't post. Compare the posts to the actual number of visits and then the number of downloads of any topic anymore. Your PNG is doing well in the download department, but how many people have posted about it? Just the truly faithful and often twice, not the average person downloading and enjoying your efforts.

No one is ignoring you or "dissing" you, but you are not going to get the response that you want with the reduced number of people here in the basement. It's not 2001 and CFS 2 isn't the latest toy out there anymore. Simonu has good advice. You've got to please yourself first and then share if you want.

Send me a PM if you would like to discuss it off line.

Absolutely disgusting thread – not worthy of SOH. Simonu and Jagd – my complements to your professionalism.

Al,

Send me a PM and we can talk about it further if you would like. There is no need to leave, but if you decide to go, you are always welcome back.

In the meantime, I'll close the thread to preclude any further misunderstandings.
