all from one CFS3 install?

SOH-CM-2023
My computer is seven years old and although it's working fine now and I'am satified with my CFS3 + Firepower+D-Day + Nationality pack and the addon planes I've added plus the DPC Korea addon, I know my computers days are numbered and sooner or later I'll have to spring for a new one.
My question is instead of adding all this stuff I have ,can I with one clean install of CFS3 add, OFF BHaH,Maw,PTO,ETOand DPC Korea?
In other words can I add all this with only one clean install of CFS3.
I'am hoping to get Windows7 and the most powerful computer and biggest hardrive I can afford.
If I have to go to two hardrives like I have now ,(and I've asked this before but didn't quit understand the answers) install CFS3 on one hard drive and some or all the addons on the other drive? Thanks

:kilroy:Hurricane3, yes, you only one clean, fully-updated (3.1 and 3.1a), vanilla CFS3 install to install all of the above. You shouldn't have FirePower in it.

I can't say about OFF BHaH, though, as I don't have that.

Currently, the Korean Skies site is down. However, PTO can be found here in its entirety: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?act=idx. ETO is also at aussiex.org, in the same ETO/Sim-Outhouse section with PTO. You will find these at Aussiex by way of Downloads/3rd Party Downloads/ETO / Sim-Outhouse.

Netwings, and thus the original MAW site is also currently down, but there is a temporary download site in Post #1 in this SOH thread: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=18693.

A separate FirePower install can be accomplished with the aid of Martin Wright's MultiCFS3.exe, which is available here: http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/.

I cannot, with 100% certainty, say if these sims will work with Windows 7, although I assume that they will.

There was a Vista-CFS3 problem with online play that an SOH member named Deadmeat1971 managed to solve. The solution for that problem can be found in Post #1 in this thread: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=9007.

I do know that you can have a double-booted machine with two hard-drives and two different Operating Systems.

The best way to put CFS3 on one HD (with the same OS) is to copy your CFS3 install to the other drive, and install the add-on, stand-alone games through that copy.

I hope this helps, and if there is someone out there who can give more or better advice on this, I will request that now.:d

Thanks Grizzly you answered most of my questions, I now only need to know if OFF BHaH can also be installed, anyone have an idea how much HD space all this would amount to?
Also as for DPC Korea ,I have that one on disk which I made when I first installed it.
Another question is after I had all the addons installed should (or could ) I install the nationalty pac and then Fire Power or should I leave the oridginal alone?

:kilroy:Hurricane3, this should give you a general idea (Please note that I have more installs than this):

1. Stock, vanilla CFS3: 1.73 GB

2. Heavilly-modded CFS3 install (without extra aircraft): 3.34 GB

3. Stock V1.31 MAW: 4.66 GB

4. DPC CFS3 Korea (with all of the KS Site's Flight Line a/c and a few more): 1.89 GB

5. Stock FirePower/CFS3 install (No extras): 1.77 GB

6. CFS3 PTO Solomon Islands install (With about 25 or so extra planes): 2.65 GB

7. OFF: I don't currently have any version of OFF installed

8. Stock 1.20 ETO (With about a dozen extra a/c): 5.99 GB

This total is: 22.03 GB on my machine.

All you need now is the size of OFF.:d

All those don't take up as much HD space as I thought,I have two 200 GB HD'S now.
Now if I can find the size of OFF I'll at least know the HD space required.
Also when you install aircraft into these addons ,do you use the AvHistory fx files? And what about the Nationalty Pac?
Hope I'am not asking too many questions.

Hi Hurricane3,

OFF BHaH will take around 16GB of HD space. it can be installed into your existing PC with the same Vanilla CFS3 you used to install the others.

ETO uses its own effects that include and surpass the original AvH effects, it also uses a much updated set of weapons and it has its own nationallity pack as well. (this means you may have to edit the country desigantion of a given aircraft to match one of the countries included inthe ETO NEK set.)

PTO has its own nationallity pack, and will be updated to iclude the same effects and weapons etc as the ETO. (ETO is also in the process of being updated)

OFF has its own nationallity pack and its own effects and weaposn etc.

for Korea I would suggest using the effects etc included. i hope to do an update of the weapons etc for Korean Skies based on the effects and updated weapons and guns from ETO (but thats down the track a bit) if your happy modify and swapping around files you could use the files from ETO to change out your current Korean effects etc.

HTH's

regards Rob.

Thanks Capt. winters ,at least now when my current puter goes belly up I have some idea how to go.
I still don't know if the oridginal CFS3 vanilla install can be moded after all the others are installed or should it be left as is and useing one of the programs that enables a duel install of CFS3 ,do that and install a second copy either on the same drive or a different drive ,install nek, Firepower etc.
I'am not really comfortable messing with files so I hope when the time comes I can just use the updated files.
Also I don't play multiplayer at all, strickly a lone player,so the mutiplayer issues don't apply.
Thanks again

:kilroy:Hurricane3, yes, your original install can be modified after installing all the others with no danger to the others.

However, it is always a good idea to keep a clean, fully-updated (3.1 and 3.1a) vanilla install handy, just in case. It can very well be on the same drive. This can be done with the use of Martin Wright's MultiCFS3.exe I mentioned in my post above. The link is up there, too.

Hope this helps.:d

Thanks to all who replied I think you guys answered all my questions ,but I know where to come when other questions come up and I'am sure they will.
thanks again
