All Hail, Bill Kestell!

Last week, Bill (a flagrant suggester of new weapons and self-confessed computer novice) took my offer to learn weapons building.

Today he produced his first payload in the form of a Ma Deuce (MA-2) .50 cal machine gun....SEEN HERE IN A TEST MOUNTED ON THE ROCKET RAILS OF A HELLCAT. :applause:

CONGRATULATIONS, BILL! :jump:

I'm typing with my left hand today ... damned arthritis anyway ... it's attacked my right elbow just to make life difficult!

My ultimate plan is to produce (for starters) a A/N M-2 .50cal as both a single and twin config for use via the DP for aircraft which were created without guns in the various defensive positions.

Further, both configs will have slight up-angle and slight down-angle versions ... facing forward and rearward.

Also, single guns for waist and cheek positions ... will be horizontal, but slightly angled to the left and right.

It was the lack of guns on the old Alpha B-17D which got me thinking about this because "gun tubes" , by their design nature, are good only for forward and rearward facing applications on a horizontal plane.

Having a "slight" up or down angle will permit the guns to show in the ventral or rear-facing dorsal situation.

You will have to give me some time, however. I have just installed FSDS 2.24 and HAVE MORE THAN ALOT TO LEARN, before I can accomplish this
goal.

It's all TR's fault! If he hadn't done his B-25 with the single tail gun ... I would not have had this opportunity.:faint:

No prob Bill, ...take all the time ya need. (You have 'till 15:30 today...)

These'll come in handy ta stick into TR's "C" fore'n'aft, ...to make'er a fightin' "C", ...or a proper "D".

(or, ...TR could remove one of the FF nose guns from his excellent "PBJ" .mdl, ...the trick is to know which one...)

All hail the modelers...

Thanks Guys...

PS. B-25 C/D/PBJ-1C/D's all had a single tail M2-0.50cal...

M2 .50 Cal

If it looks like a 50 and it sounds like a 50; it must be a 50...

Thanks Bill. They'll add much to the immersion factor when placed in aeroplanes and on vehicles.

PS. John Browning would be impressed.

Not to shabby for a country boy... it was bound to happen sooner or later and I know that you have the touch... don

Way to go Mr.Kestell ! The old gun tubes were handy but as you said, only good for horizontal placement. :applause: Nice job.
