Four years ago, I put up a request for someone to build a scenery. Dangerousdave26 was kind enough to make the effort. I just got done reinstalling it, along with all of the library files that I didn't bother with four years ago. I've fire up the scenery, and everything looks great - especially with the cabin, hangar, and boulders working. I'm hoping to get some stick time in tomorrow, and if I do, I'll post plenty of screenshots! In the meantime, if you like hard-to-get-into airstrips, go get your own copy and challenge yourself!

The weather didn't look very promising, and neither did my piloting skills!!! This place is NOT easy to get into. I completely passed it the first attempt, nearly stalled trying to make a climbing turn to go at it again, landed halfway down the runway on the second try. I'm just glad the Kodiak has really good brakes and reverse pitch! One plane load of supplies delivered - even if they did nearly break my seat off its mounts when they slid forward on landing!

I have myself only been able to land in there successfully a few times and none of those times were in the LH Kodiak. I either stall it out on approach or come in too fast.

I started doing some research into the site so I could update my scenery with some real world information I could not find years ago.

There are two cabins and one barn on the site although they do not show up well on Google Earth.

Small cabin

Barn

Large Cabin

I plan on creating new objects based on the real world buildings. It would be nice to know where they are exactly but that information is still elusive.

The dimensions and layout of that large cabin have me slightly baffled as well.

This has been a favorite for a long time, installed it way back when I knew next to zip about scenery stuff so some items didn't show until I figured things out. You might consider adding the Ravalli County sceneries too, hospital, Hamilton Airport, ANG stuff and mountain pads. Makes for some fun flying in that area of the country. I think they are all in 2ndag_ravalli_6s5.zip by LB Martin over at Avsim :friendly_wink:

Really looking forward to trying this out! I can always use more Scenery for Idaho; it's a great place to fly!
