I pushed for that configuration it but it didn't happen. You could always alpha channel out the pylons and weapons so they don't show in FS9. They all had seperate textures. In fact as I look through my master textures I see that I made such versions as "Pylons_erase.bmp", "Bomb_erase.bmp", etc.If anyone has this model, was wondering if one of the loadout variations included is just the drop tanks?
Thanks-
Moses
She's still available.Nice shots! Kinda wish I would have purchased the "Skyray". I have the "Cutlass" tho and it also is an excellent bird.

Hmmm... I just pulled mine out from the hangar. I have five models, one of which is a clean configuration.I pushed for that configuration it but it didn't happen. Dunno. Can't remember if it came with the package or was added. Are you counting all the model folders - there is one as model plus four more labeled model.1 through model.4, for a total of five. The details listed on the Virtavia version at SimMarket indicates it comes with a clean version.Hey WarHorse,
Where did you get the clean model from? I just had a look at mine and I've only got 4 models!

description=© AlphaSim 2006\n\nThe Douglas Skyray was on the cutting edge of aircraft design when first conceived in 1947, after winning a competition for a delta-wing Navy fighter. In 1948, Douglas Aircraft contracted to build the F4D-1, with the first flight of a production model taking place in 1954. Known as the 'ten-minute killer', the aircraft broke five world records in the time-to-altitude category and exceeded Mach 1 in level flight. In 1953, the Skyray shared honors with North America's Super Sabre in being awarded the prestigious Collier Trophy. In the late 1950s, an F4D1-equipped squadron was recognized as the top interceptor squadron in the North American Air Defense Command, an area previously dominated by Air Force aircraft. In all, Douglas produced 421 Skyrays, including two XF4D prototypes. The last of the type left the El Segundo, California, plant in December, 1958. It was designated the F-6A in 1963 and served both Marine and Navy carrier squadrons until early 1964.
That sounds about right. The clean one came out afterwards. The original question that started the thread was about a version with just wing tanks. That configuration was never made.Hmmm... I just pulled mine out from the hangar. I have five models, one of which is a clean configuration.
