Alphasim F7F Panel.cfg?

Back before the crash, when the Alphasim F7F Tigercat was released as freeware, someone posted the original panel.cfg file for those of us that wanted to rebuild panels for it... could someone post that anew?
with all the new freeware, I would really like to see what I can do!

I hope someone can provide the answer, too. The freeware one has no panel bmps nor a panel cfg. It's a good project.

I recommend doing a search on Avsim for <2x_alpha_f7f3.zip> by Rip Lichliter. It has a folder called "Panel sans Gauges" that contains the panel bitmaps as well as a notional panel.cfg complete with generic gauge names, sizes, and locations. You'll have to supply the actual gauges yourself, but this goes a long way to getting you started. It also has a couple of very nice paintjobs as an added bonus. :d

Or if it would be easier, you can do a search under my usename and dig around in my uploads...and there you will find the panel, the panel config and the gauges all in one nice tidy zip file. The gauges are CFS2 gauges...so they will work in FS2002 and FS2004 I do believe.

Hi OBIO.

Just wondering if you have or know of a panel cfg and bitmaps for the freeware Alpha A-20 Havoc.
This is another fine aircraft that I would like to get up and flying.

Cheers.:ernae:

Here's a copy of my Alpha A-20 panel config. The VC has only 6 gauges.....attitude, altitude, air speed, vertical speed indicator, compass and turn coordinator.....they are large and easy to see for easier flying from within the VC. Gauges are stock CFS2 gauges, which I believe are included in FS2004. If they aren't, shoot me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send them to you....just let me know that you need the gauges.

Oh, just rename the panel.cfg.txt to panel.cfg. Have found that by renaming files to a txt file, you can actually attach a wide range of file types (zips, rars, cfg, bmps) that are small enough to be attachable. The 2D panel I used is from Simviation.com's CFS2 Panel library....it is the modified panel for the FDG A-20.

EDIT: I am such a dumb butt.....you can get the entire panel set from the download library here. Just use the AUTHOR drop box at the bottom of the download page, find my use name and dig around in my uploads....I have uploaded panel sets for the vast majority of the Alpha Sim freeware planes. Most of the panel sets use the original ALpha Sim panel bmps, as found in the panel bmp collection that Phil released over on Simviation.com under the panel design section.

Well, regardless. Thanks anyway. :applause: I had this bird in my hangar because I just couldn't get all the pieces together for a decent panel, unil I found your post and download. What a great a/c. Got any more hints or tidbits to share?

Thanks very much for your help OBIO.

I will have a look in your files here in the library and then head over to Simviation and get Phil's panel bmps as well.
Talking about CFS2, I'm thinking about reinstalling it actually.
I kind of miss it and I see looking around the library here at SOH that there has been a lot of work put into it since I last flew it.

Cheers.

This is about all I've been flying this weekend while waiting for Jan's F-86 to be released. :icon_lol:

Since a lot of the old threads are gone from the forum, does anyone have any tweaks to share on this bird?

Are their any recommended sound files, FDE tweaks or anything else to recommend? :applause:

Thanks in adavance.

Someone posted somewhere a couple screenshots of Tigercats with nose art. But I don't remember who or where. Might have been the old Alphasim forum since I can't find it now. Is anyone familiar with what I'm asking about?

Yes, They're some at the Unofficial AS forum by Mal.

I uploaded a dedicated F7F sound pack, based on Lawdog3260's amazing F8F sound pack...gives a very good representation of the Pratt and Whitney R-2800.

There is a nice set of skins over on Flightsim.com for the Alpha F7F...one is in a nice Tri-color PTO scheme and the other is in an ATO (Atlantic) color scheme. Both are fictional, but very sharp. I can not recall who did them, but if you do a search for F7F I sure you will be able to find them.
