Alphasim Prop Textures

Hi - a question. Some of Alphasims earlier prop planes have (just being honest) fairly awful prop textures - F7F Tigercat and Hawker Typhoon for example. Otherwise still pretty good planes. Now I've tried to locate the texture for these - I realise they are not in the aircraft texture folders, and for the life of me can't find it in the default texture folder. I know some aircraft are textured in the model, but as these prop textures do show a yellow tip in the sim, I am wondering if there is a file for these I just can't seem to find ? Can anyone shed any light on this?

Those older Alpha planes had props that were rendered by the MDL..complete with yellow tips....nothing you can do to change them...I fought this battle and lost.

In some earlier titles the prop blades (front and back surfaces) got their coloring from a rectangular area on whatever texture had the room for it (check upper right corner of "tifbandp.bmp" on the Hawker Typhoon). In some cases (like the Tigercat, see F7fbndp2.bmp) the three blades were textured as a unit. More recently, and depending on the visual model designer, we were using a dedicated texture with a circle of the spinning prop and alpha channels. In that case it was typically named "prop.bmp" but sometimes named to indicate the number of blades (refering to how the alpha channel would work).

I love the Alpha F7F...wonderful plane....love carving the Grand Canyon with it. I don't fly it a lot, but when I fly it....I FLY it...full out, throttles to the fire wall, sound cranked up!

Just a PS Obio - don't know how appropriate it is, but I'm using your XF5F sound pack with the F7F and it rocks!

PPS - any more of your repaints for the XF5F coming our way (RAF, maybe...) ??
 
I will have to look at my external HD to see if I still have the paint template for the F5F...had a HD glitch recently and lost a 5 installs of FS9, CFS2, and a lot of paint templates....I had most of them backed up on my external...but some are gone gone gone.

I have a sound pack for the F7F...based on Lawdog's F8F R-2800 sound pack....I can send you a copy of it if you want.....just PM me your e-mail address and I will zip it up and shoot it to ya.

Also have the full panel set...with VC gauges...if you need one. Has the original panel bmp from when the F7F was a payware item.
