Was there even a paintkit released for it?

There are several skins available there as well as a repaint at Hovercontrol for the MJ-53J.
The rest of the repaints are/were at AVSIM, so you'll have to wait until the library is up.
One more thing, the repaints of the 53J work on the 53A you'll just have to make some entry changes as to model and such in the .cfg file. Unfortunately you can't make the Alpha work on the Juliet model because of the sensor suite on the nose.
IF I can find the repaint zip I'll let you know via PM. Hope this helps you out.
