Amelia Earhart tidbit....but I think we've..

Man Thats a Stretch....Only When some object that you can hold in yer hand, verified, by serial numbers can you even think it may be Amelia's Plane..It could Be A Jap Plane,Like WW2 South Pacific?...lots of stuff in Davey Jones Locker!! Mean while Leave The great Lady Be....

OOh Amelia ,where Are you...?

Until TIGHAR can come up with something definitely aircraft-related with (hopefully) a traceable serial # I don't even bother with these Amelia stories anymore. Although that's a very nice pic of her that beana51 posted.

Yep, they're on their annual quest to fund another summer vacation. In another article it says they need $3-million for their next 'expedition'...for an organization that was originally founded on recovering vintage WWII aircraft, I can think of some known wrecks that that sort of money would be better spent on.

It would be nice to know for sure what happened, but I do not buy the Gardner Island theory. No evidence and some pretty far out maybe's.

There's some Australians who have just as solid a claim to having found Amelia's Electra crashed in the New Guinea jungle and at least they had some info on a data tag to back them up. But who knows? I sure don't

I remember reading about this one. I believe it was said that this aircraft was an army light twin that crashed during the war.

From the account that I read the numbers on the data tag traced back repairs that were done by Lockheed to Amelia's Electra after the Hawaii crash.

No, cannot see much from the pictures posted. Could be from that shipwreck that occured before AE, or something from the settlement after.
