AN-2 for CFS2?

jinx

charter member past
I was wondering if we have an Antononov AN-2 for CFS2.

The Russians call it "Kukuruznik", which means "an ear of corn".

Well, in the Ukraine crisis news, on Russian TV, they said today that a Ukrainian Mil-8 military helo took off overloaded from a military airfield near Kiev and lost lift and crashed, with all the ammon and bombs exploding with many big bangs and a poor AN-2 Kukuruznik that was parked nearby was instantly and totally destroyed, meeting its maker before its time...
Attached is a picture of a naval aviation Ukrainian Kukuruznik...

As Confucius said, "things have their roots and branches"...

Jinx,
And don't forget about the wonderful prop textures done by Kelti. They can be found here at SOH. Search under his name, Kelticheart.

Hey Nick... I've started work on one this morning

Nick

I saw your post and downloaded this TG model... it is very nice...
Textures are a bit "primitive" but amenable to really being enhanced...
so far I've done a couple of them this morning... and plan to do a nice
2D panel for it too....

Ciao for now...
Carlos

Gaucho,

Your textures look great,as always, and I shall request them by pm.You are a great master.

Bub,

The prop textures by Kelticheart... Can you please post a direct link here so I can download them?

I am still having trouble searching for files at this site as their system is weird and I cannot understand their search engine.

I shall be uploading five new repaints in one zip soon,

Thanks.

Nick

I'll email them as soon as I finish them...

There are still a few textures to redo... but I think I can knock them off pretty quick
(I am getting ready for the flight to Germany at the end of May... lots or real life
stuff to do... make sure bills are paid automatically by the banks... etc... I am going
to stay in Europe probably until the Winter gets too cold.... lol... then right back
to this wonderful lower desert...
By the way... these textures include that prop by Kelticheart...

Ciao for now,
Carlos

Finished "dressing up" a bit the old girl... but

It seems that it is not worth the effort... he model is very low polygon count...
has an empty interior cockpit... I did put a nicer engine texture... new tires, but... in
the end.... no opening doors, etc. this is an old tired horse... think better let
the vet put him out of this misery.... lol

I think the FS9 model by Piglet... if it can be ported.. would really be worth
tweaking textures for...

Here is what it looks like... even with fairly nice textures... the wing tips are a disaster...

So Nick... I'll make some texture for the Pigley bird... and see what develops...

I tried another model....

I tried the one that has WSK-PZL Mielec in the manufacturer slot... it is a Piglet plane
like the one he did for FSX
It is fantastic... However... it is the seaplane... Does anyone know if this
fellow Piglet did a wheeled version for FS9 too?
because I think it can easily be adapted to CFS2... and rendered beautifully in a nice livery...
If anyone knows there is a wheeled version... save me some time and tell me where it is...
I am going to look for the a wheeled version at any rate.

Cheers,
G.

Thank you....

I have real problems when it comes to using the search feature here at SOH...
just like Nick... obviously it is OUR problem... hahahaha... 'cause you seem
to very quickly point exactly to the right target... Thanks again
G.

Gaucho,

I am not the only one who has problems with searching here. I sent you the two files by email, and also the links at flightsim.com for them.

I wish they would do a system like that of flightsim.com for searching, but I think we fall on deaf ears here--it may entail too muchwork to change it. I can understand that of course, but still their system is for hightech specialists in searching.

The Tim Conrad AN-2 has certain problems. The gauges were missing and I found a fix at flightsim.com.
Tim had named the gauges wrongly in the panel cfg, and they did not show.

The fix is on this link:

http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/archive/index.php/t-112638.html

Make sure you copy the cab file from the def DC3 into your Gauges folder.
This is normally at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Douglas_DC3\panel and you need to copy the file Douglas_DC3.cab into your fs9\Gauges folder. Do not unzip it-copy as it is.

One further problem is that the 2D panel will not accept simicons added. I added some and they do not show.
This is weird, but I have seen it happen before.

I further added an AP window, the large GPS, and the C172 radio stack.

I attach my modded panel cfg here.

Thanks a lot... guess what?

I had almost finished the main texture of Pigley's An-2... and decided to get going
on the lower wings texture... well, to make a story short... got goofed up... and saved
the one I was starting with the same name as the one almost finished...and LOST IT!!!
Man... I was so thoroughly teed off... all that work for nothing... (I am working on that
blue Ukranian one at the beginning of this thread... )...
But I just got re-started and going well... actually... I learned a lot from the first one..
so this second redo is going pretty fast... I think you'll like it... trying a bunch of new
experimenting things... and they come out pretty good....
The textures are really large so a lot of detailing in painting is possible...
should have some WIK pics soon...

Thanks again...
Carlos

Gaucho,

Good luck this time around.

Here are a few more An-2's--they might be better for repaints.
