An A2A Spitfire for the Belgians!

Spitfire Mk.IIa, P7297, MN-A of No 350 (Belgian) Squadron Valley November 1941.

No 350 Squadron was the first of the Belgian-manned squadrons, forming at RAF Valley in November 1941 and the squadron's initial equipment was the Spitfire Mk.IIa. The summer and autumn of 1941 also witnessed the replacement of dark earth/dark green temperate land scheme upper surfaces for the grey/green day fighter scheme upper surfaces. Mixed green or ocean grey was applied over the original dark earth areas but the dark green was retained in the original A scheme.The standard under suface colour for the new day fighter scheme was medium sea grey, which was applied over the original sky. The aircraft kept the 'old' style roundels. Red and blue were still carried above the wings and the A type red/white/ blue roundels under the wings. The aircraft from 350 squadron carried the Belgian tri-colour flag under the canopy hood.

Still finishing the last details, but I hope to have her finished tomorrow. With a little luck I will upload this repaint tomorrow evening (my time).

As a Scot living in Belgium and married to a Belgian girl, I love this repaint!!!

Thanks for all the nice words guys. As Francois already mentioned small present from Sint Nicolaas (the original predecessor from Santa Claus).

Well it has been uploaded to Avsim, Flightsim and SOH. The repaint is based on John 'Bomber_12th' Terrell's excellent paintkit. Therefore it took me about 2 hours to make the repaint (Camouflage scheme & markings). However I needed 4 days to add a credible level of weathering and it took me an additional day to add all the stencils!
