An FE2b Mission and a bit of Beethoven

Ah, lovely Ludwig Van! That's what I'm wanting when myself, that is BH, and my 3 20 Squadron droogs, that is Pete, Georgie, and Dim, Dim being really dim, sit about in the old Korova Milkbar after a bit of shopcrasting and the old ultraviolence, trying to cheest the red, red krovvy off our litsos :)

ARRRRGH! BH, I've been trying for over 35 years to get certain bits o' that movie out of me grey matter! Barkeep, more ale here and PDQ!

Nice one RAF ! Always a good idea to practice spins and know how to get out of them ;) But those bleedin' Eindeckers eh ruining a lovely little jaunt over the coast :angryfir:.

Now I've seen a few guys here post vids so that the link opens up the vid using media player directly as opposed to loading it onto youtube etc. How do you do that ? While youtube is handy the size and res isn't the greatest and does not show OFF in the best light.

nice....we need more user made movies, they are always fun to watch.....perhaps they are a little insight into the soul.

Very nice video. Great to see good pure flying without neon-crap all over the screen.

I didn't see too many of the dreaded TrackIR blue-jaggys when you turn your head ...whats your secret? (I get lots even with a E8400/8800GT machine)

Wow, very nice. I have to say that for all the whirling and twirling you were doing, your gunner was remarkably composed! He is one cool cucumber! I don't think he flinched once!

Thanks everyone, I am glad you enjoyed it. I was wishing I had a bit more time to fine tune it, but ah well...c'est la vie.

catch22, because our RAF website has a fair amount of space we use it to host videos and pics for our members, which also allows the direct links to such items.

77scout, I like flying in as close to the same setting as our real World War One counterparts did. As to the blue and white jaggies along the screen edges when moving around too quickly; well, I've been tweaking various computer, card, and monitor settings for the last week and I am very close to having no visual corruption in TIR. In fact, when I don't have FRAPS running I don't have any, unless I am in a big furball whilst flying a two-seater, and even then it is nearly non-existent.

Rick Rawlings, yes, my gunner Kenny Shewtum is a rock. Almost non-human really.

Cheers!

Very nice video! Just one question if you don't mind...what are your sliders (graphic) set at?

I was just curious because it looked very good and looked to run very smoothly.

Thanks much!

Dale

Excellent video...Are you using the 'Pro' version of Fraps?..If not, what do you use to put music on?
I too have trouble with Jaggies with TrackIR (same hardware just about as Scout)

I had it cracked last week, but they hath returned!:faint:

Dale, I had my sliders set for that video capture at 5-4-4-5-4. I have also tried 5-3-4-5-3 and have seen no real difference in the quality of the virtual landscape or sky, and very little difference in FPS as well.

Widowmaker, I am still slogging along with the free version of FRAPS that came with my video card software, but I am planning to buy the full version. I use MovieMaker to add the sound track and edit the movie, and Audacity to edit the sound track itself before importing it to MovieMaker. However, on this particular video I used the music as recorded and tried to mesh the vid clips with it. As to the jaggies, I think I am getting so few due in part to running the XP Pro 64-bit OS, and also due to having four memory bays on the mobo, with 8gb of memory available for the computer to grab when it needs it. I have a hunch if I overclock my memory sticks to around 840 the few remaining jaggies may vanish completely. I will let you know.

Cheers!

Lou
