Decided to fly the Jens Kristensen Boeing 307 Stratoliner last night from Boeing Field in Seattle to Missoula Montana. Took me a few minutes to re-familiarize myself with the "Whale" after having flown Constellations for the past few weeks. I'd forgot all the tailwheel lock until I went to turn during taxi to the active. By the time I got to the other end of Boeing field, I had it's back to it's usual good ground manners.
Once airborne, I set the cabin pressurization to on and climbed to a 13,500ft cruise altitude as I was flying east VFR. I normally cruise the 307 around 13-14,000 which was normal cruising in real life. Although they could fly much higher.
Looking at the map, Missoula has an ILS coming in from the north, so I set up my approach from that direction. Lo and behold the tower tells me to land from the other direction. So, I ended having to go around the airport in the valley, giving myself enough room to make a 180* turn without hitting the side of a mountain. Once turned around, it was an easy landing.
