Coming back at a few inches above anything with the enemy hot after me and scoring some hits with each pass I crossed over to our lines to the point ALL of the "markings" behind me were blue so I went on a bit and landed just before on of our airfields and "ENDED" the mission.

SURPRISE----- I am now a POW.

Just how far into our land do we need to be to be SAFE??????

Hello

At least a few clicks over the front lines as often the lines (red on map) are fluid and ebb and flow.....and sometimes even if you land behind the lines on the enemy side you may not be captured and or get captured and escape.

But play and see for yourself!!

Maybe the Germans had advanced in places, don't use frontline damage as a guaranteed position it was fluid in places. In war there are no guarantees ;). Or maybe you crashed and blacked out as they came over the top ;)

Lol you know its funny in P2 we had lots of complaints - why do I never get captured - as in RB etc etc.

So now in P3 its in and we have it very realistically implemented - and now its

ANOTHER ISSUE????

C'mon guys lighten up a bit - its

ANOTHER FEATURE!!!!

PLUS

You can play pilot never dies and you will never be captured either.

This whole thing sounds like RB2-3D on steroids. And as it's always been my opinion that RB was the finest computer-game crafted by the hand of man you might forgive me my raging impatience to get my hands on OFF.

ARGH!!!

:faint:

What radius was your radar set at? If at the minimum, you're still essentially in the front lines even if you see no red blips.

When in doubt, always fly as far toward home as you can before you pass out from loss of blood, burst into flames, or your motor cuts out. And if you think any of the above are about to happen, fly low and really slow so if you crash, you have fair odds of living anyway :).

When pursued low over the lines (which is pretty much the story of my life), I always go N or S as soon as I reach my trenches instead of continuing on towards home. Let the flak smack my pursuers around. I figure I'm dead anyway, but I want them to die first :). Sometimes this allows me to break contact, after which I try to get as far home as I can.

I share your reverence for RB2/3D. When I saw that OFF was made by many of my favorite RB2/3D modders, I signed up for it immediately. I was not disappointed. This really is RB2/3D starting with something like FCJ or the equivalent, and THEN juicing up :). It's got exactly the same hold on your short and curly hairs, only with softer skin more skillfully applied AND longer, sharper fingernails at the same time :applause:.

Damn, now I have to the bathro---er, I mean, go fly another mission :monkies:

I remember many a mission, coming back over the lines at 50 feet, trying to pick my way between MG nests. Happy days. :)
