There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

You are correct, sir. The "v3.1404" is a typo on my part. My apologies for the confusion.I always have a problem working out which version of Manfred’s wonderful aeroplane should be used with a new repaint that is released or that I have found. For example, there are no planes with the version number “v3.1404” in either the new resources or the old warbirds libraries. And despite my tendency to collect every new release of the models, I do not have any files whose filename includes “v3.1404” either.
Perfectly explained. Thank you. It's what I intended.I do have some files whose filenames include either “v3.1405” or “v3.1406”, and perhaps the fact that the installed folders for the v3.1405 file end with “FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\Douglas_C-47_V3.14” does not help the situation.
Anyway, in case anyone else is struggling to work out where to install this brilliant new repaint, I would suggest that you look for one of these files –
- Douglas_C-47_Beta_V3.1405.zip
- And the corresponding fixes - Douglas_C-47_Beta_V3.14_Fixes.zip
(both in the library here)
Thanks for the tips. It's worth packing this away for those of us who may want to further explore Manfred's Models.Or, if you were lucky enough to get the next release directly from Manfred while it was available through Dropbox –
- Douglas_C-47_Beta_V3.1406.zip
If you do use either of these files, then you do not need the “3 external models” file mentioned by Duckie, as the required model is already included in each of the files I listed above.
I have no idea whether using either of these base files would resolve the window problem listed by Stuart, but it may be worth trying one anyway, since both files contain updates released since the creation of “v3.1404”.
And as an alternative, the latest release about which I am aware is a copy of “v3.1406” with a modern VC by Jan and Manfred. This file is only available (again as far as I am aware) at Flightsim.com with the filename “douglas_c-47_beta_v3_1406.zip”.
Hope that helps,
Ro
Where might one find this repaint and or what is the exact name of the file and which sim?I seem to have found a solution to suit me...
I used an alternative texture folder ('Firekitten's Swiss scheme) and copied your main Mt.Cook textures. (overwrite duplicate files).
Still no wiser of what the culprit is, I now have vibrant reflecting glass.
Can you please be kind enough to check your upload process?? I seem not able to find it in SOH library??This is my first upload on the new Out-House so we'll see if I did it correctly!
