Outside at 1701 hours and again heard some familiar sounds going from Due East to(appox) NWest. In the sky, is it a bird, is it Superman ? NO !!, it is a C-47 Skytrain in WW2 D-DAY PAINT scheme:USA-flag:!!!:jump:
Did some internet searches and found the origination of these planes. It is the American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale Long Island.:applause: The site of the old Grumman Factory. The website is here; http://www.americanairpowermuseum.com/Website/Event.aspx

In regard s to the B-17 I saw, it is also from here and is the YANKEE LADY!

I think I now what the destination of a day trip will be!:running:

Hi Fibber,

Yankee Lady belongs to the Yankee Air Museum in Belleville, Michigan. They also have a B-25, the Yankee Warrior, as well.

Typhoon;
Thanks for the clarification, unless it was my reading comprehension that took a hit. But lately, without glassses, that is a high probability:icon_lol:. The website gives the impression through the pictures that it is part of this museum. That would explain the North -westerly course of the 17 when I saw it.
