• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Another P-51C Takes Flight - First Time

Bomber_12th

SOH-CM-2025
Having been under rebuild for many years by the Paul family/Warhawk Air Museum, their P-51C, N4651C, flew for the first time yesterday, increasing the number of airworthy high-back Mustangs to 10! The aircraft is finished in the markings of Idaho-native, and 4th Fighter Group legend, Duane Beeson's P-51B. As I understand it, while the original was simply named "Bee", the Paul family, with backing from the Beeson family, decided the best way to memorialize Duane Beeson and his ties to Idaho, would be to add Boise to the nose art, just like how it was originally on his P-47.

A recent thread on the subject has been started here:

And more detailed photos of this aircraft can be found here:

Currently there are now 7 P-51B/C's, 2 P-51A's, and 1 A-36 that are all in active, airworthy condition. In the near future, I am aware of an additional A-36, and at least two P-51B/C's which will be joining that listing.
