How is it possible to open .dds format files, and copy them under formats usable in CFS 2?

Regards to all of you, and a spetial thank to the one who can solve my problem.

Reason is that thre are here and there lots of nice texture for FSX, which could be reimported in CFS2.
Last exampleis a nice package with repaints of AF Scrub's HS 126 with Greek colours...

Last minute info: AF Scrub just issued an Arado Ar 79 in early German colours....

You must d/l from the web a free prog called "easy to convert dds to bmp's" or something similar. Load the dds and press the convert button.

I'getting old, and I don't have even searched on the web before asking the question.

For your information, I discovered thanks to your answer, that Martin Wright's DXTBmp programm can be used to convert dds to Bmp...

Next step is to convert the Greek Hs 126.
