Don't forget about the error.LOG file. It is a text file that can be of help sometimes.

What's an "error.LOG file when its up and ambulatory? Never heard of it after maybe 20 years with the Combat Flight sim world...starting with the first crude product.
More important - where does it live and where can it be found?

OK I found it.
As an example it said: "Unable to ini unit 8578."
I presume that means it could not find "unit 8578" - but in the entire mission and in all the missions I cannot find any "unit 8578" let alone get a hit for just searching for "8578".
(This example is from the Mosquito campaign and mission files. ...where the error loading mission error message arose.)
What and where should I be looking to correct an apparently missing object...or whatever?
I'm in new country here.

Further on this Error topic.
When I read a different error message (about The Continuation War) it gave me the same type of message, not being able to initiate a unit...in this case an FDG2_P_36A Finland 2 aircraft. But it is in the Aircraft list, and it is certified by the Mk_cfs2_util, and it is not different (as far as I know) from the other P_36A aircraft that are present in the mission. What is different about this unit that would cause a Mission Failure error message?
Again I presume I am at fault and not understanding something basic.
Eager to hear an answer for it will solve many, many problems that I have encountered over the years.

Is the FDG2_P_36A's sound or panel aliased to another aircraft which isn't in your AIRCRAFT folder?

The software to use to tweak gaphics depends on your hardware.

For instance, I have a Radeon graphics card in my desktop. I sue Catalyst Control Manager & can tweak its settings way beyond anything that is an option within CFS2's "graphics" settings page...

Install AMD Catalyst™ Drivers For Windows® Based System | AMD

There'll be an equivalent tweaking software for NVidia cards. Not sure if this is even an option if you have one of those "Intel integrated graphics" machines though ...
