Antilles Airboats

hehe -AS soon as I saw "Antilles Airboats" I thought of their Shorts Sandringham, now on display at Fantasy of Flight in Florida.

I'm afraid old G-BJHS is in a bit of a poorly state,she hadn't fared too well
being left outside during one of Florida's tropical storms a few years back.

My acquaintance that works there,isn't certain if she'll ever fly again.

I love Bill's Goose. The only thing that stops me flying it are the scary crew members. I really wish I could get rid of Corky, the dog and/or the girl. I know you can fly the plane with no-one visible but its just not right....

I flew the AAB Goose on a monthly basis between San Juan harbor and St.Thomas harbor back in the mid-80s. The water landings were, well, spectacular! -- especially if you were sitting in the back. I sat up front several times and was particularly intrigued by the fuel "gauge". I'm 70 and some of the G-21s were built before I was born (Good ol' Grumman Iron Works!). AAB also had a Mallard in which I flew a few times. I remember seeing a Vought-Sikorsky 44 and a PBY at the STT ramp and the Short 25 at the ex-USN hangar at TJIG. Great fun at the time, but not sure I'd be sufficiently daring to do it now.
