I know , it's slower than an SSD but considerably cheaper . I was seriously thinking about using a WD VelociRapitor 1TB , 10,000 rpm . I was going to use it as a dedicated HD for the up and coming Prepar3D 2.0 . Yes , a lot of space but if when you load up 2.0 , mesh , a ton of excellent freeware ac and sceneries , some Orbx and a separate folder on the drive for all the payware and associated files , it can eat up a lot of space . Plus add a folder for screenshots . Back all this along with "C" Win7 drive up on an external drive in case of a HD failure I should be good to go . Right now I have my payware and freeware spread over a couple of external drives and it takes for ever to hunt and search all for reloading . It sure would make it easier to reload all . I understand that ORBX will
require redownloading all their sceneries and products as P3D 2.0 will have it's own separate registry entry and ORBX is redoing all of their installers to include FSX , P3D 1.--- , and P2D 2.0 . VelociRaptors have pretty good reviews from what I've read . Newegg has listed the WD VelociRaptor 1 TB 10,000 for around $229 .
