I'm wondering if this might be worth anything more than keeping the sun out of my eyes. It's brand new, stored in the bag it was shipped in, never even been on my head.

Some of that stuff has become "collectable" and who knows - in 20 years it might be needed for a TV show 
There are numerous (some retail) sites and even live collectables shows specializing in airline material so if no one on SOH is interested, there's still a market Tom.
