• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Anybody Found Compass Auto-Calibration?

Has any found a command for this?

I'm finding more and more where the compass indications inside the cockpit have nothing to do with the direction the aircraft is actually flying. In some aircraft I've been able to adjust the HSI indication by aligning it referenced off something else like the EFB or eyeballing but not having the auto-calibrate function seems to be a big oversight.

Current flight example:
The EFB shows I'm flying at 63deg.
HSI shows I'm flying at 83deg. In this particular aircraft there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust thi

There is the control binding called 'Set Heading Indicator', which when triggered will automatically correct the heading indicator. I use the 2020 keyboard control bindings selection in 2024, so it is bound to the keyboard key 'D' in my case, as it was by default in 2020.
 
Thank you. I'll have to play with that. I just tried setting that up and changing the input mid-flight and it shut done the sim when I went to resume flight
