Anyone ever consider making a BT-67

I am certainly not gifted enough to model my own aircraft. And while I love older aircraft, I find the prospect of a modern flight-deck mixed with classic like the DC-3 a very cool idea. I was just wondering if anyone has ever found a BT-67 for FSX or FS9.

Here's some info:

Interesting prospect, but I shutter to think of all the modifications they had to make to the original frame to fit this. I hate seeing classics chopped up.

I would still like to fly one nonetheless :D

Honestly, I think this a rather cool evolution of the DC-3 - I say bring it on.

Be proud of the DC-3 series of aircraft, they have long outlived their original design lifespan, and still look fantastic, and continue to perform well.

Nothing wrong with a turbine conversion to expand range and performance.

I would love to see one in my included pics of a US Forest Service smoke jumper platform.

I have one mocked up in Gmax, using the Stock DC3 model that was converted from 3ds over at fsdeveloper. Ran into some issues that I know a more Experienced Operator would be able to fix. I mostly build Static Scenery, and my animation career is stop motion.

Which now that I start looking through my files is missing! dang, had the engines modeled up and everything.

Even managed to edit the stock dc3 so the VC has 2 wings and 2 engines, but the control services needed to be re-linked in the animations.

It's great to hear that you've done some work on this Tim! And I agree Mike, I think that the addition of tubine engines is a natch for the DC-3. Though I must admit that it's hard to image how old some of those airframes must be by now.

I was just checkin aircraft used in the polar regions and both South and North use the BT-67 so very interested.

wellll, i just downloaded it and flew it. Exterior is not bad at all, and it's easy to fly. the VC could use some work, but it's serviceable. Did i mention it was easy to fly?? it's not a bad little plane at all.. I kinda like it :)

Bt-67

The bird is incredible in real life. The most enduring airframe ever matched up with the most reliable modern engines. Add in the modern elecctronics and electricals and the Goon keeps soldiering on.
When the Canadian Forces retired their Dakotas in 1989 there were people calling from everywhere to gets their hands on the airframes. The 6 that were sold were quietly bought by the CIA and 'Baslerized' before being sent to Central America. Buffalo Joe was not happy.:kilroy:

i know this will mark me as an oddball, but i kinda was thinkin the flip side. i like the vc because it's simple, (actually that's what i like best about the model) but i would like a plain jane exterior in a freighter paint. my computer doesn't do dark colors well.
