Anyone have £1.5million for a Spitfire?

Beautiful and all as a Spitfire is.........there's just something not "right" about the look of the 2 seaters.

Then how would you get a ride in one if it wasn't a 2 seater? I don't think being strapped onto the wing is an option. ;) :costumes:

Tho she sure needs a new paint job. That is sad looking in the photo.

Ahhh......but if I was spending 1.5 mill on one I don't think that I'd just be content getting a ride in it. ;) :friday: :)

Having said that...i'll bid up to a million and see if I can get a recession bargain :monkies::engel016:

That is the new paint job.

It just wasn't finished when the photo was taken!

This Spitfire was never converted to a TR.IX after the war, but like a few others, restored that way.

I'm off to check my Lottery tickets from last week!

Cheers

Paul

If I had a million quid I wouldn't be sitting here mucking around with a flight sim. You must be mistaking me for my avatar :friday::costumes:

You might be a millionaire acrophobic with a big garden :p:

How about we all get together and buy this one. Anything is for sale at the right price.

Thank you for the links, Paul, she looks brilliant! I just saw that Brendon Deere's Spitfire recently took flight this past week for the first time in New Zealand, which also looks properly immaculate.

to be honest, the last vintage plane i would ever buy is the spit.
they're nice and all don't get me wrong, but with that landing gear, you better be a real good pilot. there's not much room for error and the penalty for failure is large. i like p-38's too, but i would avoid them for similar reasons.
